Did she really have the guts to target the patent all on her own?
Seraphina furrowed her brows slightly.
This wasn't that simple.
Seeing her silence, Little Bean couldn't help but ask, "Mom, what are you thinking about?"
Seraphina replied in her mind, "I'm thinking that Sienna wouldn't have the nerve to scheme against my patent by herself."
Little Bean paused. "You mean someone is backing her?"
"Yeah."
Her tone was steady. "Her reputation is entirely ruined right now. Who would willingly help her? Unless..."
"Unless what?"
"Unless that person also desperately needs what I have."
Little Bean caught on immediately. "Are you talking about that jerk, Sebastian Sullivan?"
Seraphina replied coolly, "The Sullivan Group has been heavily investing in the renewable energy sector lately. What they lack is exactly this patent."
Little Bean had an epiphany. "So Sebastian wants your patent, but he's too embarrassed to ask himself, so he's using Sienna as his front?"
Seraphina replied, "Sebastian might not have been the one to ask her."
"It's possible Sienna went to him first. She wants to make a comeback, and he wants the patent. They both get what they want. It wouldn't be surprising if they teamed up."
Little Bean's tone grew animated. "Those two are perfectly matched for each other."
Seraphina picked up her phone and texted Lucian Langford. "Could you ask Frank to check if Sebastian and Sienna have been in contact recently?"
Lucian replied instantly, "Sure."
Little Bean chimed in, "Mom, whatever you do, Dad supports you."
Seraphina thought to herself, "You're such a clever little thing."
Her mind lingered on the patent. She wasn't naturally paranoid.
But Sienna's sudden interest was far too abnormal.
She had to find out exactly who Sienna was cutting deals with.
If it really was Sebastian...
