My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 426

The short mercenary crumpled into a heap, completely incapacitated.

The tall man's knee was shattered, pinning him to the floor, but his hand desperately scrambled for his pocket.

Seraphina saw the movement and screamed, "He's got the detonator!"

Lucian's eyes narrowed. He launched himself forward, pinning the man's arm flat against the jagged rock.

As they violently wrestled for the remote, the mercenary wrapped his free hand around Lucian's throat, squeezing with lethal force.

Lucian's face flushed deep red, but his grip on the detonator never wavered.

Seraphina sprinted over and drove her heel directly into the arm choking her husband, throwing her entire body weight down on it.

A sickening crack echoed through the cave.

The man howled in agony as his arm snapped.

Lucian ripped the remote from his shattered hand and hurled it deep into the darkness.

With both mercenaries finally neutralized, Seraphina slumped against the cold cavern wall, gasping for air.

She stared at the blood pouring from Lucian's ribs and the deep slash on his arm, tears stinging her eyes.

Lucian crossed the floor and pulled her flush against his chest, holding her so tight he could crush her.

His voice was a broken, ragged whisper. "Don't you ever disappear on me again."

Before Seraphina could breathe a word, an earth-shattering explosion ripped through the entrance of the cave.

Someone had detonated the abandoned van outside!

Massive boulders collapsed, instantly sealing the exit behind a suffocating wall of dust and debris.

The tall mercenary, despite his broken wrists and shattered knee, burst into maniacal laughter.

"My guy was waiting outside! The main fuse is lit! You're going to burn in hell with us in five minutes!"

Seraphina froze.

She hadn't accounted for a third man.
