Seaside Gardens.
Sebastian was completely intoxicated, leaning heavily against Seraphina's front door. His tie was askew, his suit jacket was horribly wrinkled, and all traces of his polished persona as the CEO of The Sullivan Group had vanished.
He pounded the door a few times, his voice hoarse. "Sera... open the door... just listen to me..."
The property staff tried to coax him away, looking stressed. "Mr. Sullivan, you are disturbing the other residents. Ms. Simmons doesn't live here anymore. You really need to head home."
Sebastian was too drunk to make sense of things. "Where else would she be if not here? Tomorrow is our wedding! She's just mad at me, I need to explain things to her face-to-face."
Before he could finish rambling, footsteps echoed from the end of the hallway.
Two police officers in uniform marched over, their expressions stern.
"Who is causing a disturbance here?"
The property staff quickly stepped forward to explain the situation.
The officers took one look at the heavily intoxicated Sebastian and frowned.
"Sir, we received a report that you are disturbing the peace. Please come with us."
Sebastian froze for a second before belligerently yelling, "Disturbing the peace? What's wrong with looking for my fiancée? Do you have any idea who I am?"
"We don't care who you are. Disturbing the peace is against the law," the officer said with a tone that brokered no argument. "Take him away."
Moments later, Sebastian was hauled off.
Finally, there was quiet.
.......
Seraphina slept incredibly well.
She hadn't felt this well-rested in a long time.
"Ma'am, are you awake?" Susan's voice drifted through the door, gentle and respectful.
Seraphina sat up and replied, "I'm awake."
"Sir asked me to let you know that breakfast is ready. The driver is waiting downstairs to take you to the hospital after you eat."
Seraphina paused.
Was Lucian not going into the office today?
By the time she finished washing up and went downstairs, she found Lucian sitting at the dining table, looking at his phone.
He was wearing a dark blue dress shirt today, the sleeves rolled up to his forearms, revealing the lean, muscular lines of his wrists.
