"Ms. Harrison. It's wonderful to see you," Seraphina greeted her with a warm, polite smile.
"Please, Ms. Simmons, come right this way. My father has been eagerly waiting for you," Gillian beamed.
The group made their way into the grand main hall.
Inside, the elderly Harrison couple was busy entertaining a lively group of guests.
Elder Harrison was dressed in a smartly tailored suit. His hair was entirely silver, but his eyes were bright and full of life as he chatted animatedly with a few old friends.
Mrs. Beatrice Harrison sat elegantly beside him, a teacup resting in her hands, a serene smile gracing her features.
"Mom, Dad, this is Ms. Simmons. The wonderful woman I've been telling you about," Gillian announced, guiding Seraphina directly to her parents.
Elder Harrison immediately stopped his conversation. His eyes locked onto Seraphina, and tears instantly welled up in his eyes.
"Ms. Simmons!" The old man's voice trembled violently as he stood up, stepping forward to grasp her hands in profound gratitude. "I will be forever in your debt for saving my life—"
Seraphina was completely taken aback and quickly reached out to support his arms. "Elder Harrison, please, you don't need to do this. I'm just glad I was there to help. Please don't give it another thought."
"Just glad you were there? Nonsense! If you hadn't stepped in, I would have died right there on the pavement. The doctors told me that the golden window for surviving that kind of heart attack is just a few minutes. One second later, and I'd be gone." The old man's voice cracked with raw emotion.
Beatrice immediately stood up as well, taking Seraphina's hands into her own, her eyes glistening. "Ms. Simmons, we owe you everything. We truly do..."
The absolute sincerity radiating from the couple left Seraphina feeling a bit flustered.
She waved her hands dismissively. "Honestly, you really don't need to thank me. Anyone would have done the exact same thing in that situation."
"That is simply not true," Elder Harrison shook his head fiercely. "The world is a harsh place. Most people wouldn't dare get involved, especially a young woman so far along in her pregnancy. Our family will never, ever forget this debt."
