"Your timing is perfect. Come look at your nephew. Over six pounds and strong as an ox!"
Eleanor's voice swelled with immense pride.
Not too long ago, she had been terrified Lucian would never settle down.
Who could have imagined he would become a father so quickly?
Seraphina was truly the greatest blessing to the Langford family.
Landon stepped closer, looking down at the peacefully sleeping baby. He reached out, gently tapping his finger against the tiny, clenched fist.
Instantly, Hudson's hand locked around Landon's finger. Landon froze in surprise before letting out a light laugh.
"Wow, he's got quite a grip."
"Exactly!"
Eleanor beamed, her eyes crinkling with delight. "Lucian was exactly the same way when he was a baby. He'd grab onto anyone's finger and refuse to let go."
"Like father, like son."
The more Eleanor spoke about her great-grandson, the more energized she became.
Landon gently withdrew his hand and turned to face Lucian.
"Congratulations on becoming a father, Lucian."
"Thanks," Lucian replied flatly.
Landon didn't mind the cold reception; he was entirely used to it.
After exchanging a few more pleasantries with Eleanor, he announced his departure.
Eleanor waved her hand dismissively. "Go on, go on. I know you young people are busy. But you need to start hurrying up, too. Look at Lucian—he already has a son."
She just couldn't resist dropping a hint about marriage.
Landon offered a helpless smile. "Don't worry, Grandma Eleanor. I have a plan."
With that, he made a quick exit to avoid any further lecturing.
Once the door clicked shut, the room descended into a brief, heavy silence.
Eleanor muttered under her breath, "That boy. Always so secretive."
Seraphina looked down at the gift box in her hands, hesitating over whether she should open it.
Lucian stepped forward, taking the box from her, and swiftly pulled off the ribbon.
Inside lay a pair of exquisite, solid silver baby bracelets. Engraved on the shimmering metal was the word, "Blessings."
It was a solid gift—not overly ostentatious, but certainly not cheap.
It struck the perfect balance.
