My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 334

Seraphina's expression shifted instantly at the sound.

She rushed over and scooped Little Bean into her arms.

"Why is Hudson suddenly crying?" Charlene asked, perfectly feigning innocence.

The moment Seraphina picked him up, she spotted the glaring red pinch mark on Little Bean's delicate cheek.

Her heart clenched violently in her chest.

"Don't cry, Hudson, Mommy's here. Mommy's got you," Seraphina cooed softly to comfort the baby, then snapped her gaze up to glare at Charlene.

Charlene felt a flicker of guilt. "Maybe Hudson is hungry..."

"Charlene," Seraphina cut her off, her voice laced with pure ice. "You shouldn't handle a baby so roughly. Anyone else might think you pinched him on purpose."

Charlene's face tightened, and she immediately went on the defensive. "Babies have very sensitive skin! I only brushed against him gently. How was I supposed to know he'd start crying?"

*Hmph, this old witch! That wasn't a gentle touch, she pinched me hard! Too bad I'm just a baby and can't talk, otherwise I'd tell Great-Grandma!* Little Bean ranted angrily in his mind.

Seraphina held him close, rocking him gently until his cries finally subsided.

Only then did she carefully place him back into his crib.

Charlene's eyes roamed around the luxurious nursery.

The crib was imported, the changing table was the latest luxury model, and even the bottle warmer was a high-end German brand.

She knew exactly how much these items cost because she had wanted to buy them years ago but ultimately couldn't justify the exorbitant price.

Yet now, Eleanor had arranged all of this effortlessly for Lucian's son.

"Eleanor really went all out for this child," Charlene remarked with a stiff, sour smile. "I assume Eleanor prepared all of these things?"

"Yes, she put a lot of thought into it," Seraphina replied coolly.

Charlene sat down on the sofa, adopting a casual tone. "Well, Eleanor waited so long for a direct heir. Now that she finally has her great-grandson, she probably wants to give him the world."

"Unlike our Landon, who has to rely entirely on himself. But I suppose it makes sense. After all, Landon isn't the eldest grandson, so there's no comparing the two."
