My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 357

At two in the morning, Little Bean began squirming and fussing, his tiny mouth opening and closing in search of milk.

Seraphina blinked awake groggily and reached out to the empty space beside her.

The sheets were cold.

She froze, suddenly wide awake, and turned to look at Lucian's side of the bed.

The comforter was folded back, and a faint indentation remained on the pillow, but he was gone.

"Lucian?"

She called out in a low voice, but the only response was Little Bean's increasingly urgent whimpers.

Seraphina sat up, gathered her son into her arms, and unbuttoned her pajama top to nurse him, keeping her ears pricked for any sound outside.

Faintly, a man's voice drifted in from the balcony. It was hushed, as though the speaker was trying desperately not to wake them.

Little Bean, fully awake now, darted his eyes around as his thoughts broadcasted to her: *Mommy, Daddy is on the phone outside.*

Seraphina didn't respond. She stood up as quietly as she could.

Cradling Little Bean with one arm, she walked barefoot across the wooden floor toward the balcony.

As she crept closer, Lucian's voice grew clearer.

His tone carried a gentleness she had never heard before. "Yeah, I know. Don't worry, I'll take care of it."

He paused, then added, "Trust me."

Those two simple words were spoken with impossible tenderness.

As Little Bean nursed, his eyes widened in surprise. *Mommy, who is Daddy talking to? He sounds so sweet. It has to be a woman.*

Seraphina's footsteps faltered.

*Could it be... Daddy already found someone else?*

"Be a good boy and keep quiet," Seraphina muttered under her breath.

Little Bean mentally pouted. *I didn't even open my mouth.*

Taking a deep breath, Seraphina clutched her baby tighter and continued forward, treading as softly as she could.
