My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 378

She spoke with chilling serenity, but every word felt like a physical blow to Tiffany's heart.

Having witnessed the agonizing years her friend had spent pining after that man, she knew exactly the kind of hell she had survived.

"Besides, I trust Lucian. He has his flaws, but he wouldn't cheat."

She had spent the entire night staring into the abyss, tearing the situation apart in her head until the pieces finally clicked.

Paired with the PI photos Tiffany had just shown her—which placed him at Evie's temporary residence—she was ninety-nine percent sure he hadn't slept with Melody.

But she was equally sure that he was hiding a massive secret from her.

And she was going to quietly, methodically rip that secret out into the light.

...

Far from Lyra Bay, Lucian's SUV pulled up to a deserted, decaying warehouse on the outskirts of the city.

The moment his boots hit the gravel, Christian stepped out of the shadows. "Boss. We've got them inside."

"Good."

He stalked inside, settling into a battered metal chair just as Christian's men dragged the two thugs into the center of the room.

The blond and the redhead were completely disoriented. They had been laying low from the cops, only to be ambushed by heavily armed suits, beaten senseless, and dumped in this hellhole.

The blond scanned the cavernous room, his knees instantly buckling when his gaze locked onto the predatory, ice-cold man sitting in the shadows. He collapsed to the concrete.

The redhead barely had a second to process the scene before Christian kicked the back of his knees, forcing him onto the floor beside his partner.

Lucian gave a barely perceptible nod. Christian stepped forward, grabbed both men by their greasy hair, and yanked their heads back.

Groaning in pain, they were forced to look directly into Lucian's dead eyes.

"Which hand did you use to touch her?" he asked softly.

The blond's pupils dilated in absolute terror as the horrific realization dawned on him. This monster was the husband from last night.

He was radiating a suffocating aura of murder.

If they had known that random woman on the highway belonged to a man like this, they would have thrown themselves into traffic rather than go near her.

The redhead was hyperventilating so hard he physically couldn't string a sentence together.

"Not talking?" Lucian's tone was eerily conversational. "Fine. Break both."
