My Unborn Baby Chose My Husband for Me novel Chapter 514

Little Bean let out a soft, squishy grumble.

*Mommy, the drama at this table is more boring than Susan's evening soap operas.*

Seraphina’s lips twitched.

*Everyone here is acting, and they’re doing a terrible job. At least Susan’s shows have background music.*

Seraphina kept her head down, pretending to adjust his bib as her shoulders shook with suppressed laughter.

Lucian noticed and glanced over. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing," she shook her head. "He’s just tired."

Little Bean was thoroughly offended. *I am not tired! I’m just bored of looking at them!*

*Then close your eyes and rest,* Seraphina replied in her mind.

Little Bean huffed. *I need to stay awake to help Mommy keep an eye on all these monsters.*

Seraphina nearly choked on her breath.

Across the table, Melody watched the effortless intimacy between Lucian and Seraphina. Her grip on her soup spoon tightened until her knuckles turned white.

She stood up gracefully, reaching for the serving bowl. "Seraphina, this chicken soup is excellent. Let me get you a bowl. You need to keep your strength up after having a baby."

Seraphina looked up.

Melody wore a flawless mask of concern, her posture perfectly submissive.

A sudden hush fell over the dining room.

Charlene’s eyes flickered as she hid a smirk behind her own bowl.

Evie stared at Seraphina, waiting for her reaction.

Seraphina didn't take the bowl. Instead, she calmly pushed her empty bowl an inch away. "No thanks. Susan will serve me."

Melody’s hand froze mid-air, a flicker of humiliation crossing her features.

She quickly recovered with a polite smile. "It's no trouble at all. I've already poured it. Here, take it."

"I'm good. I suddenly lost my appetite for soup."

The moment the words left her mouth, the bowl in Melody’s hand tilted sharply.

Scalding hot soup splashed over the edge, landing directly on the back of Melody's hand.
