Seraphina cut him off without a shred of hesitation.
"Mr. Sullivan, we have absolutely nothing to do with each other anymore. Keep your concerns to yourself. As for a collaboration..." She smiled, the expression perfectly polite yet miles away.
"I am very well aware of The Sullivan Group's capabilities, and you are not on my radar."
Sebastian's grip on his briefcase tightened until his knuckles turned white.
A heavy silence descended over the lobby.
Seraphina cast a dismissive glance at both of them before turning on her heel and walking away.
Her posture was perfectly straight, her stride confident and unbothered.
Sebastian stood rooted to the spot, watching her figure disappear into the distance.
He suddenly remembered the very first time he met Seraphina years ago. She had walked exactly like that—back straight, neither arrogant nor submissive, acting as if the world couldn't touch her.
But somewhere along the line, after they got together, she had changed.
She learned how to fix his hangover remedies, iron his shirts, and revolve her life around his needs.
Her world had shrunk until it only consisted of him.
And what did he do?
He took her presence for granted. He got so used to her sacrifices that he forgot she used to shine on her own.
It wasn't until she left that he realized the truth.
He had lost something irreplaceable.
"Sebastian?" Sienna's voice trembled. "What... what's wrong?"
Sebastian snapped out of his daze and looked down at her.
Sienna's eyes were red, her bottom lip quivering. She looked completely pitiful.
But this time, not a single ounce of sympathy stirred in his chest.
"Nothing. Let's go upstairs," he said, his tone utterly frigid.
Sienna's face turned ashen.
Watching Sebastian stride toward the elevators without her, she suddenly felt like a massive clown.
She had flown all the way from the capital, heavily pregnant, just to be treated like an afterthought.
No.
