No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 628

Noelle looked at Samantha and continued, "You called me a thief over and over. Is this how the Merlock family raises their children?"

Samantha was completely dumbfounded. She never thought that Noelle had a backup plan.

Just then, Ruth arrived at the scene and walked up to Samantha. "Samantha, have you been causing trouble again?"

Samantha quickly hid behind her mother and explained, "Mom, I just thought that I had lost my bracelet. I didn't think that it was my friend who stole it! I really had no idea!"

Ruth turned to Noelle and said, "My apologies, Ms. Liddell. Samantha has a bit of a temper, and she's definitely not the brightest there is. She often gets herself caught in such foolish shenanigans."

Noelle finally got a good look at Ruth and realized that she resembled Laura. She responded coldly. "The person who made the mistake should be the one apologizing instead. Pushing your own mother to take the blame is pretty disgusting, don't you think?"

Ruth's eyebrows twitched in response to Noelle's boldness.

Donovan stepped forward and turned to Noelle. "That's enough, Noelle. You're already proven innocent now. There's no need to keep pressing them on about it."

Letting the Merlock family off the hook would make the Liddell family seem much more presentable.

Ruth ignored Noelle and just talked to Donovan instead. "I'm truly sorry for this misunderstanding."

"You're too polite, Mrs. Merlock. My sister, too, has a bit of a temper and doesn't always think before she speaks," Donovan replied.

"That's just how youngsters are, so I won't hold it against her. Let's resolve this privately over a meal some other day. For now, we shouldn't cause any more trouble for the Cantrell family's banquet."

Donovan nodded. "Of course."

Noelle let out a mocking laugh. "Fine then, I'll be waiting for an explanation from the Merlock family."

Noelle also did not want any more time with the brief interlude at hand. She knew that the main event of the banquet had yet to begin. She then turned to Mia and said, "I'm fine, Mia. No need to be upset."

The price is only 1/4 of what others charge
