No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 652

Noelle and Mia had already planned everything in advance, and they told Grace to leave early just in case things got messy later. After all, Salena had no patience for people without power or status, so there was no way she would go easy on Grace if she were still around.

"So, when you went back to the Liddell residence last night, did that bitch finally get what she deserved?" Grace asked, her tone full of curiosity.

"Pretty much. Wyatt even hit her," Noelle replied casually, sounding like she was in a good mood. "I'm just a little worried about Mia, though… I hope she didn't get caught in the crossfire."

"She texted the group last night and said she's fine," Grace reassured her. "After all, Mrs. Cantrell already embarrassed herself so badly in front of everyone—if word got out that she abused her own niece, too, she'd be totally ruined socially."

Noelle nodded, agreeing that Grace made sense.

...

That evening, Noelle headed back to the Liddell residence again. As soon as she walked into the foyer, Wyatt looked up and snapped, "You've got some nerve coming back here."

"This house was bought by our parents. Why can't I come back?" Noelle shot back.

"Because you're the reason they're dead," he hissed.

Noelle's face went cold. "Didn't we just find out the crash was suspicious?"

"Yeah, we found out someone else caused it," Wyatt barked. "But if you hadn't insisted on going out for that stupid cake, they wouldn't have been on the road in the first place. It was just cake—was it worth their lives? Do you even sleep at night knowing you killed them?"

Wyatt was in a foul mood, and everything about Noelle grated on his nerves. He could have had a grand wedding, but everything had to be kept low-key now, or people would mock him behind his back.

Noelle rolled her wrist as she stepped closer to him. "When they amputated your leg, did they chop off part of your brain, too?"

"W-What are you doing?" Wyatt panicked.

Noelle walked up and kicked over his wheelchair, causing him to crash to the floor. He struggled to stand up on one leg, flailing as he tried to hit her.

However, Noelle threw a solid punch that knocked him flat; this time, he could not get up. She stepped on the wheel of his overturned chair, staring him down.

She said, "You really do know how to say things that hurt me. But I know exactly how to make you suffer, too."
