Noelle was honestly a little surprised when she saw Wyatt hit Xenia. In their past life, her brothers had treated Xenia like she was made of glass—pampered her like a princess, always afraid she would get hurt. But now, Wyatt actually had it in him to lay a hand on her.
So, it turned out their so-called affection came with strings attached.
Noelle glanced at Xenia, who also looked totally confused. Her voice dripped with sarcasm as she said, "Wyatt, you'd better not hit her too hard. If word gets out, it won't look good for the Liddells."
Wyatt snapped, "Hah, Xenia is just our adopted sister. She eats our food, lives under our roof, and uses our things. So, why can't I teach her a lesson?"
He lowered his head and glared at Xenia. "Right, Xenia?"
Pain shot across Xenia's scalp, and she did not dare resist even a little. When she saw that Noelle was still standing there watching, Xenia burned with hatred—there was nothing she hated more than looking weak in front of Noelle. It was more unbearable than death.
Even so, she mumbled weakly, "Wyatt, nothing actually happened with Justin in the lounge. It just looked like something did in the video, but it never got that far."
After all, she had already seen the video—her skirt covered everything, so it was not like anyone could tell.
Wyatt's expression relaxed a bit after hearing that. He looked up at Noelle and said, "You hear that? Xenia isn't the kind of girl you think she is."
Noelle replied flatly, "If you believe that, then that is good for you. But hey, I'm not the one getting cheated on."
Wyatt's jaw clenched, and he exploded. "Noelle! Get back here! I swear, I'm gonna beat the hell out of you!"
He yelled after her, but Noelle did not even bother turning around. It was clear Wyatt really did care that Xenia might have slept with someone else—and the fact that she was not a virgin clearly ate at him. In other words, Xenia's life was about to get worse.
Right after Noelle left, Xenia finally let out a breath. She tried to sound sweet as she said, "Wyatt, don't let Noelle mess with your head. She's dying to drive a wedge between us."
However, Wyatt's expression was still dark, and Xenia was starting to get irritated. She silently cursed, "Who the hell did this loser think he is, acting like he has the right to be mad?"
She decided that once she secured that investment for the AI project, she would make sure the Liddell family paid for everything.
