No longer a pushover (Noelle and Cedric) novel Chapter 660

Cedric's tone was harsh as he said, "You'd better keep quiet and stop talking until we get to the hospital." He was heartbroken and furious.

Noelle leaned against his chest. When she looked up, she could see his sharp jawline, and it sent her heart rippling. She lowered her gaze and silently rested in his arms.

To say that she wasn't afraid when she was trapped alone in that corner earlier would've been a lie.

She'd fought so hard for this second chance at life; there was no way she wanted to die so easily. When Cedric charged into danger without hesitation to save her, the walls she'd painstakingly built around her heart crumbled.

Cedric took Noelle straight to Aristelle Hospital. This time, his face was just as grim as before, like something serious had happened.

He summoned the director—Andrew from their last visit—over. Seeing Noelle's disheveled state, Andrew could tell she wasn't seriously injured.

He calmly asked, "What is it this time? Another 'one hour later, and it would've healed on its own' kind of injury?"

Noelle felt a little embarrassed and lowered her head, but Cedric maintained a long face. "She was trapped in a fire. Check her lungs and throat for any issues."

Andrew's expression changed instantly after hearing it was due to a fire. He wrote a medical order and had a nurse escort Noelle to her tests.

"In that case, we need to run tests immediately. Follow the nurse for an examination."

Noelle was wheeled away in a wheelchair. To others, it probably looked like she had a leg injury.

Cedric turned to Andrew with a grave look. "Will her leg burns heal completely?"

"The burns on her legs aren't severe. It shouldn't be a big issue, but it'll take time."

Cedric pulled a long face and said nothing. Andrew looked up and asked, "How did the fire happen?"

"A fire broke out at the office. She ran in to save some samples and got injured. I don't even know what to say." Cedric let out a helpless sigh.

Maple Enterprise had existed until today for her sake. She was far more important than the company.

Cedric handed her a glass of lemon water. "You don't have to work too hard. Nothing is more important than your life, do you understand?"

Noelle watched as he handed her the glass of water and pressed her lips together. "I understand."

Cedric couldn't help saying, "I can give you anything you want. If you want the Liddells to pay, I can make them disappear from Yasnia by tomorrow."

He knew what mattered to her. Noelle's mind was a mess. She never imagined she'd meet Yasnia's most powerful man in her second life and that he'd treat her so well.

She was slightly stirred, especially after he'd just risked his life to save her. She lowered her head and took a sip of water before whispering, "I need to think about it."

Cedric's eyes lit up with a flicker of excitement. Just as he was about to step forward, a knock came at the door.

Anastasia's butler, Lincoln Chase, stood outside and bowed respectfully. "Mrs. Greene Senior has woken up, Mr. Greene. She wishes to meet Ms. Liddell."

Noelle was surprised. Did Anastasia want to meet her?
