Cedric finally took a step back and looked at Noelle somewhat helplessly. "You're not allowed to take their money. I can give you everything I have."
His gaze carried a clear warning. Noelle looked down and muttered, "I didn't take it anyway."
"That's good," Cedric said as he glanced at the time. "I need to head over to the office for a bit. When I come back, we'll handle your discharge procedures."
"Alright. Go ahead." Noelle couldn't wait for him to leave.
As Cedric smoothed his clothes out, he asked, "Does your throat feel fine now? Any discomfort?"
"It's much better now."
He picked up his coat and said, "I'll have someone bring you breakfast later."
Noelle watched as he left the ward. As she touched her lips, she could still feel the lingering sensation of the kiss.
She lay down, pulling the blanket over her face in embarrassment. She had to admit she was finding it harder to control her feelings for him. It seemed like she was falling for him more.
Soon, she dozed off again. But since she wasn't in a deep sleep, she woke up at the sound of footsteps coming from the door.
Tilly from the TG Public Relations team entered with breakfast and looked surprised. "Did I wake you up?"
"No. I wasn't deeply asleep anyway."
Noelle sat up and glanced at the breakfast. "Perfect timing; I was getting hungry."
"Mr. Greene's instructions were to take good care of you," Tilly replied.
Noelle looked at her and asked, "Say, if I were to hire you directly instead of through Cedric, would you want that?"
Tilly and her team had been investigating the truth behind the car accident. Noelle wasn't thinking of changing to anyone else, but at the same time, she didn't want to owe Cedric any favors.
