Samantha's face instantly turned pale. Laura quickly grabbed her hand and said, "Hurry up and apologize to Ms. Liddell right now."
However, Samantha looked extremely unwilling.
Laura turned to Noelle and explained, "I'm really sorry, Noelle. Samantha shouldn't have spread those rumors. I'll make sure she clarifies everything on the forum, alright?"
She had to make sure Samantha wouldn't get into legal trouble. She'd never want a sister who ended up in jail.
Noelle's expression turned cold and sarcastic as she got up. "Excuse me."
Without saying anything else, she walked down to the stage to discuss her upcoming speech with the host.
Samantha muttered, "Is Noelle getting ready to give a speech? Is she the student representative?"
"No. The first speaker is a company representative," Laura said. Her expression grew more complicated as she had to admit that Noelle did have some skills.
Samantha was shocked. Was Noelle a company representative? What had she done to deserve that?
Laura's composed expression was starting to slip. She returned to her seat as her mind came up with a strategy. She couldn't let Noelle steal the spotlight again!
Soon, Noelle stood on stage and said, "Hello, everyone. I'm Noelle Liddell. I'm currently a freshman in the School of Computer Science at Yole University, but today, I'm not here as a student representative. I'm here as a company representative."
As soon as she said so, the entire venue erupted in murmurs of admiration and envy.
Samantha's face twisted with anger. "What's she so proud of? She only got here thanks to Mr. Greene! Who is she trying to fool?"
