Chapter 175 We’re Leaving
“But what about you? You only found out I was hospitalized because Mason called you.
“Ethan, tell me how I’m supposed to trust you anymore.”
Ethan froze.
Over 10 hours?
The floor is covered with her blood?
No… this isn’t right…

“What are you talking about?” he protested urgently, as if he had just heard something ridiculous. “The living room was covered in blood? That’s impossible! When I went back last night, the living room was spotless. There was nothing there at all!”
That was exactly why he’d thought Amelia was just throwing another tantrum, locking herself in her room and refusing to come out. That was why he hadn’t given it much thought and had gone about his routine, eating breakfast and taking Isla to school early in the morning.
Unfortunately, that explanation sounded painfully weak.
It didn’t prove his innocence at all. Instead, it hit him like another sharp slap across the face.
All it did was prove just how neglectful he had been toward his own wife.
“Then get out! All of you!”
Amelia’s disgust for Ethan ran so deep that it made her feel sick even speaking to him.
She quietly turned her back to everyone, curling herself entirely into the snow–white blanket, as if it were a cocoon that could shut out all the filth and lies in the world.
Mason’s cold eyes swept across Ethan’s confused and humiliated face, leaving him no room to speak.
“Did you hear her?” Mason dismissed them bluntly. “Take your people and leave. Then use that barely working brain of yours and think carefully about what I just said.”
Ethan’s face flushed and paled alternately. He opened his mouth, as if he wanted to say something, but under Mason’s icy, unyielding stare, not a single word came out.
He turned away, humiliated, and snapped at Hannah, who was still trying to cry, “We’re leaving!”

Hannah didn’t dare say another word. She grabbed the shaken Isla and followed closely behind Ethan as they left the room.
When the door finally closed, the room fell silent once again.
Mason had thought that Amelia would break down and cry.
After all, no matter how strong a woman was, being misunderstood and hurt like this by her own husband should have left her shaken.
He poured a cup of warm water, walked to the bedside, and softened his voice as he tried to comfort her. “Amelia, don’t worry, I-”
Before he could finish, the blanket suddenly moved.
Amelia poked her head out, revealing a calm, composed face.
Her eyes were a little red, but there were no signs that she’d been crying.
She looked far too calm for someone who had just been betrayed and hurt.
“Mason,” she looked at him, her tone even carrying a hint of ease, “you don’t need to worry about me. Actually, it didn’t matter that much to me.”
She paused and even curled her lips slightly before continuing in an almost teasing tone, “With this injury, I can finally stay away from the Rowe Villa openly. By the time I recover and go back, our divorce waiting period will already be over.”
Mason felt a light sting in his heart.
He reached out, his warm palm gently resting against her cold cheek, his thumb brushing over her soft skin.
“If you want to leave the Rowes, I have plenty of ways to make that happen.”
“Doesn’t this … hurt?”
…
Amelia’s body stiffened slightly, almost imperceptibly, and she shrank back a little, embarrassed.
“Well, it happened. There’s nothing I can do about it. I can only try to stay optimistic,” she muttered softly, as if justifying her forced optimism.
Then she blinked and shifted the heavy topic aside, asking with quiet curiosity, “By the way, Mason, how did you get here so quickly? I … I could feel it. I think I was lying on the floor for a really long time.”

Mason withdrew his hand and casually sat back down on the chair by the bed.
