Mason called her.
Amelia took a deep breath and answered.
She assumed he had seen the news and was calling to warn her.

But on the other end of the line came Mason’s usual steady, cool voice, completely calm.
“Did you get it?”

He didn’t mention the press conference at all. Instead, he checked on the purpose of her trip.
first.
That small, seemingly casual detail instantly steadied Amelia’s chaotic emotions.
She tightened her grip on the divorce certificate in her hand, feeling as if it were giving her endless strength.
“Yeah, I got it,” Amelia replied calmly. Then she took the initiative to get straight to the point. “Mason, you already know Ethan is holding a press conference, right?”
Mason gave a very soft “Mm” on the other end of the line, and his tone relaxed slightly. “I know. Don’t worry. I’ll handle it.”
His words carried the same reassuring authority as always.
As if no matter how big the storm was, it could be smoothed over as long as he was there.
In the past, Amelia wouldn’t have hesitated to hide beneath the shelter he offered.
But today was different.
She lowered her gaze to the divorce certificate, the symbol of her freedom and rebirth, and a courage she had never felt before rose inside her.
“No,” Amelia said, her voice firm. “Mason, you’ve protected me for long enough. This time, let me handle it.”
She paused, then smiled with quiet confidence. “I already have my divorce certificate. I’m kind of unstoppable right now.”
There was a brief silence on the line, followed by Mason’s low, soft laugh.
“That confident?” he teased. “Or are you worried about me?”

Amelia didn’t answer directly. She simply stated a fact. “From the moment I decided to secretly sign the divorce agreement behind Ethan’s back, I knew this day would come.”
There was no avoiding it.
Since the other side had already set the stage, she had to face it head on, and she intended to do it beautifully.
“Alright,” Mason said, hearing the resolve in her voice and no longer insisting. “Go ahead. Make as much noise as you want. If the sky falls, I’ll be the one holding it up for you.”
“Okay,” Amelia replied firmly and hung up.
She turned to Lily, her eyes sharp and bright. “Let’s go. We’re heading to the venue.”
By the time they arrived at the Rowe Group press conference, the room was already packed. Cameras and long lenses were all aimed at the stage.
The press conference had already begun.
Amelia and Lily slipped in quietly through a side entrance and stopped in an inconspicuous corner at the back.
When Amelia finally saw who was seated on the stage, her pupils contracted sharply.
Ethan sat in the center, dressed in a dark suit, his expression heavy and restrained.
And to his left sat Hannah.
She looked completely different from usual, dressed in an all–white suit with carefully done makeup that made her appear fragile and pitiful, like a perfectly crafted innocent victim.
What shocked Amelia even more was the person sitting beside Hannah. Beatrice.
She and Hannah flanked Ethan on either side, making him look like a protector being relied on by two vulnerable women.
As anger surged in Amelia’s chest, Ethan stood up under the glare of countless camera flashes.
He adjusted the microphone, swept his gaze across the room, and then dropped the first bomb in an even, seemingly calm voice.
“Today’s press conference is first to inform all members of the media that Ms. Harlow and I have, in fact, already been in the process of divorce for some time. Everything she has done online previously was her personal behavior and has nothing to do with Rowe Group.”

The moment he finished speaking, the room erupted.
The reporters reacted like sharks smelling blood, instantly thrown into chaos.
But that wasn’t the end.
Ethan raised a hand slightly, gesturing for silence.

His expression darkened as he continued, enunciating every word. “As for the reason for our divorce, it was because I discovered that during our marriage, she had maintained an inappropriate, long–term relationship with her adoptive brother, Mr. Everett, the current CEO of Everett Group, betraying our marriage openly.”
That statement hit at least 10 times harder than the first.
The entire venue exploded.
“Cheating with her adoptive brother?”
“My god, Mason Everett? The CEO of Everett Group? Is this real?”
“No wonder Everett Group helped her before. So that’s the relationship.”
Camera shutters went wild.
After throwing out those twisted accusations, Ethan sat back down, his face dark, clearly signaling that he had nothing more to say.
“Holy hell,” Lily hissed through clenched teeth, shaking with rage. “That bastard. How dare he. Amelia, let’s go. Right now. We’re going up there and slamming the divorce agreement in his face.”
But to her surprise, Amelia remained calm.
There was no panic on her face at all. Her gaze was icy as she stared at the three people on stage who were putting on their performance.
