He immediately took Mason’s side and puffed up with pride. “Superstar? Is he even half as handsome as Mr. Everett?”

“That’s hard to say.” Lily’s tone turned knowing. “Because Henry looks a bit like Ethan. From a few years back.

“Ethan…” Tim paused.

Just then, the bathroom door opened.

Amelia walked out.

“Who’s calling you?” she asked casually.

Lily jumped and quickly spoke into the phone. “No one, just a friend. Gotta go–I’ve got something to deal with. Bye!”

With Tim’s big mouth, this news would reach Mason in no time.

Amelia didn’t suspect a thing. After drying her hair, she picked up her phone and noticed a new message from a few minutes ago.

It was from Mason.

“Are you back at the hotel yet?”

Amelia lay down on the bed. Her fingers hovered over the screen for a moment before she finally typed a short reply.

“I’m back. About to sleep.”

After sending it, she placed the phone face down by her pillow and closed her eyes.

At home, Mason saw her reply.

Mason went to Stardale Group for his usual inspection.

Tim stood in his office, reporting on the company’s recent updates.

Mason listened quietly, his face showing no real reaction.

After Tim finished his report, Mason spoke in a calm tone, giving a few brief notes on what to focus on next. Then he stood up and got ready to head back to the Everett Group.

“That’s fine. Handle the rest as you see fit.”

“Got it.” Tim closed the file. Watching Mason put on his suit, he broke into a sly grin and shot him a knowing look.

“Mr. Everett, I’ve got some gossip. Want to hear it?”

Mason paused while fixing his cufflinks. Without turning around, he replied flatly, “I’m not into gossip.”

“Oh, really?” Tim dragged out the words on purpose. “What if… this gossip is about Amelia?”

The moment he finished speaking, Mason’s step froze.

He slowly turned around.

Then he sat back down in his chair.

He looked up, his gaze heavy with pressure, leaving no room for argument.

“Make it quick.”

Tim cleared his throat. He knew Mason was hooked now, so he stopped holding back. He retold everything he’d heard from Lily the night before, adding a little extra drama along the way.

“… So that’s what happened. Lily said they were crazy lucky yesterday and ran into a super popular star, Henry Dollar, while walking around the old town. No idea why, but that star took a special interest in Amelia and even went up to talk to her first…”

As he spoke, Tim sneaked a glance at Mason’s face.

He still looked calm. Only the fingers tapping on the desk had stopped at some point.

Tim kept going, treating Lily’s wild guesses like solid facts, “Lily said that superstar basically fell for Amelia at first sight. His eyes were glued to her the whole time. And that’s not even the biggest part.”

He paused on purpose, letting the tension build. Under Mason’s growing chill, he finally dropped the bomb.

“Amelia’s attitude changed too! Word is, they really hit it off. Before they left, they even exchanged numbers. And the reason? That guy looks a lot like Ethan from years ago.”
