Henry’s eyelids twitched like crazy. “Do you… really have to go this far?” he muttered through gritted teeth.
Inside, he struggled with the choice. Would he surrender his dignity or spend the afternoon feeding mosquitoes in the woods?
And then, without warning, the sky outside the trailer went dark. Before anyone could react, fat raindrops started pelting the trailer roof, blurring everything outside.
“It’s raining?” Lily shouted.
Amelia quickly pulled out her phone and checked the forecast. Her delicate brow furrowed for a second, then eased into a relieved smile. “Looks like thunderstorms all afternoon. With rain this heavy… maybe we should just forget it?”
Henry’s voice cut through sharply, icy and firm. “Forget it? Are you kidding?”
He shoved the facekini and jacket back into the bag and fixed Amelia with a blazing stare. “You’ve gone this far preparing. We can’t just quit now.”
He glanced at the schedule. “I’m free tomorrow. We’ll just do it then. Give me your number. Tomorrow, we’re going.”
His near–obsessive insistence left Amelia and Lily momentarily speechless.
Amelia tilted her head. “You… really just want to go out and play that badly?”
“Uh, yeah,” Tyler jumped in, trying to smooth things over. His face begged for mercy. “Honestly, folks… Mr. Dollar hasn’t done anything like this–gone out like a normal person–for three whole years.
“Every day he’s either on set, rushing to another gig, or stuck in his hotel. He’s about ready to lose it.” He gave a deep sigh. “So please, just… let him get some fresh air. And if you agree, anything you want–autographs, concert tickets–I’ve got you covered.”
Lily’s eyes sparkled with mischief. She raised an eyebrow. “You really trust us? Hand over your superstar and just hope we don’t… sell him off?”
Tyler laughed, honest and warm. “Chill, it’s not like you’re kidnapping him. Besides, I can tell— you two are good people.”
Amelia’s mind flashed back to the six suffocating years after marrying Ethan–glamorous on the surface, but trapped everywhere.

A pang
of sympathy made her nod.
“Alright,” she said softly.
Tyler nearly jumped out of his shoes, thanking them over and over.
Henry’s grin returned, smug and satisfied.
Amelia pulled out her phone and exchanged numbers with him.

The deal was sealed. Tyler cheerfully loaded their scooter into the trailer’s spacious trunk and personally drove them back to their hotel.
The trailer pulled up in front of the hotel.
“See you tomorrow! Be careful on the way!” Lily jumped out, waving at the car as she said goodbye.
Amelia followed behind, holding onto the scooter that Tyler had helped unload.
Her mood wasn’t nearly as high as Lily’s.
Head down, hands on the handlebars, she walked quietly toward the hotel entrance, lost in thought.
Then, cutting through the damp, post–rain air, a familiar clear voice reached her ears.
“Amelia.”
Her steps froze.
She stood still, stunned.
She looked
up in disbelief, following the sound.
Under the hotel’s bright porch lights, Mason stood tall and calm.
The soft glow traced his gentle, refined features, and his eyes were quietly fixed on her.
Amelia’s breath caught.
For a moment, she wondered if she was imagining it.
Mason walked toward her with measured steps, the sound of his polished shoes echoing softly
on the wet tiles.
Then, in a gesture so natural it felt intimate, he reached out and lightly patted the top of her

head.
“Lost in thought again? Even forgot me?”
As he spoke, his eyes flicked subtly toward the trailer that hadn’t yet driven off.
Amelia snapped back to reality.
She looked up at him, wide–eyed. “Mason? What are you doing here?”
“Mr… Mr. Everett?!”
Lily finally registered the scene too. She glanced at Mason, then at Amelia, covering her mouth in a mix of shock and delight. “You’re here in Lingchers too?”
Before Amelia could respond, a figure suddenly popped out from behind a hotel entrance pillar.
Tim leaned out, winking playfully at Lily. “Not just Mr. Everett—your super–handsome, unbeatable Tim is here too!”
He quickly glanced at Mason’s calm expression, then added in a smooth, apologetic tone, “We’re on a business trip–we have a project to discuss. Heard you two were here; figured we’d drop by and see how you’re doing.”
Meanwhile, inside the trailer, the scene outside was clear through the window.
