Chapter 612 A Dinner Full of Traps
Amelia’s gaze gradually hardened.
“No, I should go.” She turned around, meeting Mason’s deep eyes with a faint smile curving her lips. “It’s just a dinner. If I avoid it over something like this, it’ll make me look weak.”
“Alright.” He ruffled her hair, his eyes full of indulgent warmth. “Then I’ll stay at Stardale Group with you all day. After work, we’ll go together.”
Night fell, and the city lights flickered to life.
Mason drove, bringing Amelia to a private club in the city center.
The dinner was set in a top–floor private room, offering a breathtaking view over the entire city skyline.
But when they walked in together, they found the room empty, except for Wilda, who was seated at the head of the table. Right now, her expression was dark.
She was clearly still holding a grudge over what happened yesterday–Amelia leaving, and Mason having her and Phoebe escorted out of the estate.
The moment she saw Amelia, her sharp, calculating eyes turned cold and hostile.
“What are you doing here?” Wilda snapped, her tone biting. “Was yesterday not enough? You drove me off, and now you’ve come to make things worse, huh?”
Faced with the sudden accusation, Amelia simply blinked innocently. There wasn’t the slightest hint of panic on her face, only a trace of well–placed surprise.
“Hm? Didn’t you say last time that Pedro asked you to pass along the message that I must come too?” She tilted her head, feigning confusion. “Or did that not happen? Then, I must’ve misunderstood. In that case, I’ll leave. I won’t disturb you.”
With that, she actually turned around, as if ready to walk out.
The move caught Wilda completely off guard.
Just as Amelia’s hand was about to touch the door handle, Mason reached out and caught her wrist.
He gently pulled her back to his side, then casually looked toward Wilda, whose expression had grown even darker. “Did the house staff finish moving your things?” he asked lightly.
That question was like pouring fuel on the fire,
There was no greater humiliation than being forced out by her own grandson.
Wilda’s anger surged, but she held it back, unwilling to let Amelia feel victorious.
So she stiffly changed the subject, redirecting her frustration at both of them. “I’ve been here for ages, and you two only just show up! You have no respect for your elders at all!”

Chapter 612 A Dinner Full of Traps
Finished
Mason remained completely unmoved, his dark eyes calm behind his glasses. “Isn’t this Pedro’s dinner?” he said evenly. “The guests and elders are already here, yet the host himself is nowhere to be seen.”
The moment he finished speaking, the private room door was pushed open from outside.
Pedro walked in, all smiles, holding Beatrice’s hand. He had clearly heard every word.
Unlike Mason and Evan, Pedro didn’t share the same father, and it showed. His features resembled Wilda’s
more.
His overly pale complexion carried a faintly unhealthy look.
Yet his face wore a false smile, his tone laced with a sarcasm that made people uncomfortable.
“Oh come on, I just got stuck in traffic for a bit, and I was only a few minutes late. And you’re already talking behind my back, Mason?”
Just moments ago, Wilda had been livid from Mason’s words. But the instant she saw her favorite grandson, her tightly furrowed brows relaxed, and even a hint of genuine warmth appeared in her eyes.
“Pedro, you’re here.”
However, when her gaze followed his hand to the woman beside him–Beatrice, impeccably made up- that trace of warmth froze instantly. It vanished just as quickly, replaced by undisguised displeasure.
“Pedro,” her voice dropped, “what exactly is going on between you and her?”
Of course, Wilda recognized Beatrice.
In fact, her impression of Beatrice was even worse than her opinion of Amelia.
Back then, after the Harlows went to great lengths to bring Amelia back, Clara frequently brought Beatrice along, claiming ties to the Everetts and trying to leverage connections wherever she could. She was always hinting for the Everetts to step in and help revive the Harwlos‘ declining business.
Wilda was far too sharp not to see through it. Combined with bits and pieces she’d heard from Evan, she had long labeled the entire Harlow family as opportunistic.
And now, things with Amelia and Mason weren’t even settled yet, and Pedro had already gotten entangled with Beatrice.
In that instant, Wilda’s expression completely fell.
