Chapter 656 A Quiet Invitation
Lenny was sitting in front of a row of massive surveillance screens.

On the screens, everything that had just happened in the living room was replaying clearly.
In Lenny’s sharp, battle–hardened eyes, there was only a chilling indifference.
He quietly watched Hannah on the screen as she hovered on the verge of breaking down, then slowly curled his lips into a meaningful smile.
Whether it was because Ethan’s mix of pressure and warning had actually worked, the next two days on Hannah’s side were strangely quiet. She didn’t stir up any trouble at all.
With no outside interference, Amelia was able to devote all her energy to her work.
Her collaboration project with Amy’s company moved forward steadily.
The date for the fashion show was also tentatively set for Premond one month later. Time was tight, but everything was moving in a good direction.
Just as Amelia and Mason were preparing to return to Premond to continue the early preparations for the show, Lenny took the initiative to contact Amelia.
Over the phone, he warmly invited her, saying that if she had time, she could visit Porteria to see the home where he and Demi used to live. It might even inspire her designs.
Faced with such hard–to–refuse kindness, Amelia thought for a moment and agreed for the time being.
The two of them returned to Eldoria without any incidents.
Ethan didn’t travel back with them. He was still worried about Isla. He was afraid Hannah might take out her anger on Isla, poisoning her with those same malicious thoughts, so he decided to stop by and check on her situation first.
That faint sense of unease lingered in Amelia’s heart the whole time. But when the plane landed in the familiar city and she stepped onto that land again, the suffocating feeling of being surrounded by schemes eased quite a bit.
They had been away for several days, and Mason had been focused on Amelia the whole time, so he hadn’t had the chance to check on Evan either.
The second day after returning to Eldoria happened to be the weekend, so Amelia suggested that she and Mason go to Preston’s Courtyard together to visit Evan, who was still receiving treatment there.

As spring deepened, the air in Preston’s Courtyard carried the scent of soil and fresh grass.
When they arrived, they noticed a new face in the yard.
Mason explained that Nora had accidentally hurt her hand a couple of days ago and couldn’t take care of things, so they had hired a female caregiver named Ruth Craig to help look after Evan’s daily needs.
With the weather getting warmer, Evan seemed to be in much better condition.
He was leaning back in a wodden chair under the porch, reading a book. His complexion looked much healthier than the last time they had seen him, and the gloom between his brows had eased. There was a calmness about him, like the sky after rain.
But after looking around, Amelia still didn’t see that familiar figure.
She walked over to Evan and asked softly, “Evan, where’s Kaia?”
Evan lifted his gaze from the page and replied calmly, “She’s probably out drying herbs.”
Amelia nodded, then turned and walked off with a neatly wrapped gift bag in hand.
Sure enough, Kaia was crouching in the yard in front of a large spread of wooden trays, carefully turning over the herbs laid out to dry.
Soft sunlight fell over her, casting a warm glow along her simple, delicate profile.
Amelia walked over and handed her the gift. “I brought this for you. It’s a really popular scented diffuser from Premond. I thought it would suit you.”
Kaia looked up and smiled gently when she saw it was her. She wiped her hands and accepted the gift. “Thank you, Amelia. You’re always so thoughtful.”
The two of them sat down on the stone stools in the yard and chatted casually for a while.
