Ana
Austin stilled both her and Maddie as they watched Londyn bang out of the war room, her Alpha temperament right there on the surface for all to see. “Leave it.” Zara also muttered “They need to sort that out themselves. Londyn does know he didn’t do it on purpose… she is still upset is all, hiding behind her beast. Apple is now in full control to stop her human from being seen as weak.”
“It won’t end well.” Maddie sighed.
“No.” Austin agreed “It’ll be an Alpha to Delta fight, one of those moments where Londyn is all Alpha, and an upset and hurt one. She likely wants to beat the hell out of him, and not for the pains of betrayal.”
“For not knowing,” Zara sighed. “Two weeks she’s known and contained herself, gotten a taste of her own mate just the other night, and now seen him go to the aid of another, and yell at her for protecting herself from pains of betrayal. Only to feel them anyway… Londyn thinks he should have picked it up from her actions with him.”
Her head whipped around at the sound of a fight breaking out and everyone in the room was on the move out of that room, only to see Yuri and Apple fighting it out right there in the foyer of the packhouse.
“Can he fight?” she asked “Do you all still train?” her eyes moved to Slade.
“Yes, and better than before, what you would know. A different fighting style to how you were trained. Is that how you trained her?”
“Yes,” she nodded. But was still worried that Londyn was Alpha-blooded and Yuri only a Delta.
He smiled right at her. “Then relax, he’ll hold his own I assure you.”
“She’s alpha-blooded and a rogue, got better instincts than a normal pack-life wolf.” She worried.
“Whose side are you on?” he chuckled a little.
She stared at him for only a moment and then looked back at the fight that was going on. They were all lined up along the wall, and she thought about that Londyn verses Yuri? Of course, she wanted Londyn to
win it, but she didn’t want to see Yuri get seriously hurt either. Or be seriously injured by Londyn. She doubted very much that Londyn would understand that hurting one’s Mate, would also hurt herself. They’d never really discussed that. She blinked as she saw Vance walk past her with Zara in his arms.
“I’ll take her to the pack hospital.” Vance stated.
“Best you use the omega exit.” Slade stated.
“Yes, I’m not so stupid as to try and walk past that fight.” Vance snorted and moved off down the foyer, along the line of council members heading for the pack hospital.
“Not a good day for any of us, it seems.” She sighed.
“Hmm, it’s better than I expected it to be.” Slade leaned back on the wall next to her, like all the other council members were doing, just staying out of that fight, she touched Maddie gently.
‘Should we step in?’ she mind-linked to her worriedly.
‘Leave it, I don’t actually think Apple is giving it her all, I think she’s putting him through the paces…maybe
looking to see if he is actually interested in them, is there to apologise and truly mean it as well.’
She sighed and turned her eyes back to the ensuing fight. It bothered her that no one was willing to get in there and stop it. Though she also knew all of these council members were alpha-blooded, so they likely understood Londyn and her wolf’s desire more than she did.
Who would win she didn’t know, but as she watched on she noted that Yuri only had a few light claw marks on his arms and one across his chest. But she also noticed it didn’t touch his tattoo. Maddie was likely right. Just beating him because they were upset, not because she wanted to really harm him. Yuri was also smiling over there, enjoying that fight, it seemed.
It went on for nearly ten minutes and then Yuri had Apple pinned down on the floor. He laughed right at her
“I win.” Only to have a set of claws snap into the right side of his abdomen.
His head whipped around to look at it, and exposed the left side of his neck to Apple, and Ana’s eyes widened as she saw Apple snap her head up and sink her fangs into Yuri. Heard him gasp, and he lost his position to Apple as she shoved him over and held him down to complete her Marking of him.
“Gretta?” she heard one of the council members ask.
“My bad, I didn’t activate the no fangs on that band, was only looking to see if it would glow.” Gretta stated.
Ana sighed, “Fine, but I’m not speaking to them.”
“You could beat them if you like,” Slade told her. “I already beat Roman, so did Vance.” He shrugged “kind of cathartic, you might find it is as well.”
“I won’t feel anything. I’m not bonded to either of them out there.” She stated as they walked down the hall away from those two wolves mating. It wasn’t wise to interrupt them or have them be distracted and get aggressive about it.
“I’m aware,” Slade nodded “But curiously, you and Ocean seem to still have a full connection to Ember, right?” he asked. “Or that’s what it looked like to me.”
“It is still there, I don’t understand it, I severed myself from that Beta so it shouldn’t be.” She shook her head, she needed time to think about it, but she had a feeling it was because she’d not severed her kin bond to the Vales, only to Anders, Bronnie and Hayden specifically. Who knew.
“The boys and I have a theory about the Beta family, several actually, we could never settle on just one thing about them and you.”
“That would be?” she frowned.
“One, you’re not actually Anders’ child.” He stated simply.
Ana looked right at him with a frown,
“Perhaps, Ana, a blood bond between you and him and so you severed from Anders, but if he’s not your biological father, the bond is still intact with the Vales. All it did was sever you from Anders himself, not everyone else. So your kin bond with Ember…that would make sense to me if that is the answer.”
She was thinking about it now as they walked down to the omega exit.
“Do me a favour Ana,” Slade stated as they stepped outside. “I know you’re not ready to be here, but I’d like for you to let me hold your hand as we walk passed that group of traitors. They don’t know you’re here and well…after some of the things they’ve said to me, which we’ll get to discussing later, I’d like them to see that, what they thought.”
“Why?” she asked, and she knew what he was talking about. They thought he and her were Goddess-Gifted.
“I’m curious as to how they’ll react to seeing us together like that. Just like Gretta is. I know it’s a lot to ask, but it’s just me holding your hand is all.” he smiled gently at her and held his hand out to her.
