Chapter 133
Elena’s POV
Another blood transfusion from Tyler seemed to do the trick. I recovered quickly from my fainting spell, and after the transfusion, I felt much better. My fever subsided and I felt much stronger than even before the episode.
I wanted to speak to Samson and Tyler about what happened now that my head was clear, so I left the infirmary –with Jayne insisting on following me in case I collapsed again, since I refused to sit still-and searched for
them.
I didn’t expect to find them gathered in Samson’s study with Nellie, of all people.
Nellie. The person who had betrayed me multiple times, who had sided with my evil twin sister on empty promises. The person who had left me for dead in the forest with a knife sticking out of my chest and poison wreaking havoc on my body.
She was here. Clean. Wearing Natasha’s clothes. And when she saw me, her face went as white as a sheet.
“Elena! You’re still alive?!” she gasped.
I stepped fully into the room, clasping both hands on top of my cane and leveling her with a stern glare.” Surprised, Nellie?” I growled.
Of course, I couldn’t entirely blame her for what happened-she was just an Omega, and had sided with the woman she thought to be her future Luna-but I was still a little bitter about it. I think I had a right to be resentful so long as my chest was still bandaged and aching.
Nellie trembled, speechless. I looked around the room-at her, at Tyler and Samson, and then at Natasha.
Natasha, for her part, looked irate. Judging from the fact that Nellie was standing beside her and wearing her clothes, I suspected that something was going on here. I wasn’t entirely sure what was going on, exactly, but I got a bad feeling from it.
Natasha couldn’t even stand the thought of giving some clothes and food to a family of rogues; why would she give one of her favorite cashmere sweaters to Nellie, of all people?
“Elena. Perfect timing.” Samson cleared his throat. “Nellie here, who was exiled from Crescent Hollow for letting you live, was just telling us about what happened that night.”
“She said you were trying to seduce Kade,” Tyler added, furrowing his brow. “And that that’s the real reason. why you were attacked.”
My brows quirked. “Did she say that?” I asked, looking at Nellie again. Her eyes were brimming with tears, like she might cry at any moment. “Nellie, why are you lying now? If you were exiled from Crescent Hollow, why are you still siding against me? Did Serena put you up to this?”
Nellie’s mouth opened and closed like a fish out of water, completely incapable of words.
“Don’t be frightened of her, Nellie,” Natasha said, wrapping her arm around Nellie’s shoulders and pulling her close. The gesture was protective… And it was completely out of line with Natasha’s typical selfish and cold nature. “Elena tormented Nellie the entire time she was in Crescent Hollow. Isn’t that right, Nellie?”

I felt my eyes narrow as I watched those two standing together. Suddenly, it hit me: I knew what this was. Natasha was manipulating Nellie. Nellie had always been most concerned with pleasing her Luna and getting out of her Omega life, and if Natasha had used her position to make her say certain things….
