Rejected, Abused, I Fall for the Forbidden Alpha (by Riley Scott) novel Chapter 257

Chapter 257

I slam my paws into the ground, growling loudly, my fury rising as the rogues continue to fight, their eyes glowing bright red in the darkness.

They’re relentless, but they’re also thin and weak. Unless several attack at once, they don’t stand a chance against any of our warriors.

Damien’s black wolf continues to throw itself into the fray, slashing, snarling, leaping, protecting every man he can, determined to make sure that as many as possible survive.

Where are the allies he said were coming? Had they been delayed?

Roars come from the sides. I hear the sound of paws thudding along the ground, and a fresh wave of wolves comes/ pouring out from the trees, heading deliberately for the rogues.

I feel myself becoming relieved.

The allies. The leader looks familiar. I narrow my eyes and then realize. Hades. It’s his wolf. He’s come to help.

His group tears through the rogues as they begin to realize they’re trapped.

Several attempt to retreat, but it’s no good. Hades men block the exits. None of the rogues are getting out alive.

The ground is covered in blood now. The metallic scent fills the air.

We fight as comrades. I kill a rogue attempting to sneak up on an innocent warrior and turn only to be slammed to the ground by another.

Damien’s roar fills the air, and he comes barrelling out of nowhere, tearing the rogue away from my body and tearing its head off within moments in a fierce display of protection.

I get back to my feet.

The rest of the rogues are taken care of.

The grounds are littered with dead bodies.

It looks like a battleground. A war, and we had won.

I shifted, peering closely at the bodies. Thankfully none of them were ours. Ours were only minorly injured, as was Hades.

Damien shifts and grabs me by the shoulders, looking me over for injuries, his eyes widening as he takes in the cuts and the dried blood on my body.

“You’re hurt,” he gasps, and I shake my head.

“I’m fine, Damien, but you’re…” I point at him feeling faint.

So much blood. He looks drenched in it.

“It’s not all mine,” he assures me, cupping my cheek.

Hades comes walking up, his expression fierce. We turn, Damien, moving to stand in front so

Hades can’t see me in my naked form. It’s amusing.

“Brother,” Hades greets Damien, shaking his hand, “I thought we were almost going to be too late,” he added

gruffly, “sorry for the small delay.”

“Hades,” Damien said, exhaling, “forget it. I’m truly thankful for your help,” he added as Hades smirked at him.

“As if Raven would forgive me if I refused,” he scoffed, a look of love on his face.

He looked at me, really looked at me, and then arched a brow.

I tensed, waiting for his criticism, his hatred. Instead, he surprises nie.

“Raven sends her regards. She hopes,” he paused, sounding as though he was struggling to form the words, “that when this is over, you and Damien might visit. She’s almost due to have our baby,” he added, and I felt bad he’d had to leave her to help us.

“Sorry you had to…” I stammered.

He shook his head.

“Don’t apologize. Damien is family, and while I’m still not entirely happy with you,” I flinch, “my mate seems to think you’ve changed, so I’m willing to give you the benefit of the doubt, especially considering it looks as though Damien has made you his official mate,” he grunted, and I had to be content with that.

Laughter fills the air. We tense. Hades moves closer to us, all the warriors grouping as we scan the surroundings.

The laughter is familiar. I clutch at Damien’s arm, my panic rising.

“She’s here, Damien. That’s her,” I trembled.

He pats my hand. We wait.

She comes out from the shadows, her dress billowing around her ankles, her smile so wide it’s almost frightening.
