Alexander was acting like a total fanboy, piling food on her plate.
“I’m full.” Amelia stood up, grabbed her contract, and headed for the third floor.

Alexander wanted to follow, but William stopped him. “Stay here. I need to talk to you in the study.”
Alexander followed him, looking annoyed.
“Dad, I don’t care how you got her back here, but you better treat her right. She’s your real daughter.”
If they kept treating Amelia like garbage, this family was going to implode.
William slammed his desk. “Sophia grew up with you! She’s been your sister for twenty years! She’s sweet and obedient, and you want me to be ‘nice‘ to that brat?”
“Sophia isn’t as innocent as you think, Dad. Behind your back, she-”
“I know exactly who Sophia is! You’ve just been brainwashed by that girl upstairs!”
William was convinced Amelia had some kind of dark influence over Alexander.
Alexander wanted to tell him the truth about the past life, but he knew they wouldn’t believe him. He had to let Sophia expose herself.
“I’ve already decided to marry Amelia off to Silas Harrington. You’re staying in town. Don’t leave until after your mother’s birthday.”
“What?!” Alexander was horrified. “Silas Harrington is in his fifties! He literally beat his third wife to death a few months ago! You’re sending Amelia to her death!”
Silas was Edward Harrington’s cousin and a total stain on the family name. He was involved in all kinds of illegal crap and had “lost” three wives to domestic violence.
Internal rumors said the feds were building a case against him, and even Cyrus Harrington wanted him
gone.
Sending Amelia there was a death sentence.
“Silas promised us a billion–dollar merger fee and exclusive export rights. Amelia grew up in a gutter; marrying a Harrington is the best she can hope for!”
Alexander let out a cold laugh. “And what about the Sterlings? You think Sebastian is just going to let you swap his fiancé? Dad, don’t gamble with the company. You can’t play Sebastian Sterling.”
William smiled confidently. “Don’t worry about that. I’m inviting Silas to the birthday party. Once Amelia sleeps with him, I’ll announce Sophia is the one marrying into the Sterling family. Everyone wins.”
Alexander’s heart sank. He felt sick to his stomach.
His own father was willing to sell Amelia’s dignity for a check and use her as a stepping stone for Sophia.

Chapter 105 The Devils Merger
Finished
It was beyond disgusting.
“Dad, Amelia is your daughter. She spent over a decade suffering in that village, and now that she’s back, you’re pushing her into hell?”
William didn’t feel a shred of guilt. He looked at Amelia with pure loathing.
“You all hated her when she first got here! Now you’re blaming me? You’re the one who told me to send her back to the village more than once! I’m doing this for the family’s future.”
William’s words were like daggers in Alexander’s chest.
He had said those things… but that was before he remembered.
“Dad, I won’t let you do this.”
With that, Alexander turned and stormed out of the study.
In this life, I’m going to make sure Amelia stays happy.
He went straight to the third floor and knocked on Amelia’s door. “Amelia, open up. I need to tell you something.”
Amelia was in the middle of a face mask and really didn’t want to deal with him. The knocking was grating on her nerves.
“It’s late! What do you want?” she snapped, opening the door.
Alexander grabbed her wrist, trying to pull her out. “You can’t stay here. We have to go. Now.“”
Amelia shoved him off. “They bought me back with a vineyard. Why would I leave?”
“Just trust me once. Come stay at my place for a while, okay?”
If she stays here, she’s finished!
Amelia peeled off her mask, revealing her flawless, pale skin. “I trusted you plenty of times before, Alexander. Right now? Your word is worth zero.”
Every time I trusted him in the past, I ended up getting beaten by this family.
