“Silas! This is the Bennett house! What the hell are you doing?”

Alexander felt a massive weight lift off his chest when he saw the maid.

“Get out of my way! I’m going to teach that girl a lesson!” Silas was clearly out of his mind.

His eyes were bulging as he lunged over the railing and jumped to the first floor, making everyone scream.

“You b*tch! Don’t you run from me!”

The maid figured the study was a trap, so she ran out the back doors and dove into the swimming pool.

Silas didn’t hesitate. He dove in right after her.

“What is wrong with him? He looks like a maniac.”

Nydia watched with a frown. Silas looked like he was high on something.

The guests crowded around the pool as Silas grabbed the maid, a disturbing scene playing out in the

water.

Amelia stayed on the sofa, calmly pouring herself a glass of juice.

“Amelia, thank God you’re okay. I thought…” Alexander stood over her, his face full of relief.

“Thought I was upstairs getting mauled by Silas?” Amelia looked up, her smile blinding.

A scream erupted from the pool area. Alexander’s face went grim. He turned to Amelia. “Go to your room. Stay there until this settles down.”

He was terrified she had something to do with it!

Silas was a scumbag, but he was still a human being. If Amelia had killed him, her life was over.

Amelia didn’t listen. She grabbed a handful of sunflower seeds and strolled out to the pool to watch the show..

Silas had been struggling with the maid when he suddenly went limp and dragged her under. She fought him off and scrambled out, but Silas sank to the bottom.

Bodyguards dove in and hauled him out, but he wasn’t breathing.

William arrived on the scene, breaking into a cold sweat when he saw Silas’s lifeless eyes staring at nothing.

Robert Walker, the doctor, arrived and did a quick check. Silas’s lips were purple, and there were tiny burst vessels under his skin. “He’s been poisoned.”

He grabbed the maid’s arm. “What happened? Did you kill him?”

The maid was hysterical. “I don’t know! I brought him a coffee and he just went crazy! He tried to force himself on me!”

She’d been willing to “serve” Silas for a check, but when he got violent and started hitting her, she’d bolted.

“Who told you to bring him that coffee?”

Sophia saw her opening and asked the question with desperate hope.

The maid scanned the crowd until her eyes landed on Amelia. “It was her! Amelia!”

The guests gasped, their eyes fixing on Amelia, who was still casually cracking seeds.

“Amelia sent poisoned coffee to Silas? She actually murdered him?”
