Amelia snatched the dropped knife, a lethal grin on her face as she backed Sophia toward the railing.
“You wanted to kill someone? Let me show you how it’s done!”
Sophia was trapped against the edge, screaming for help. “Alex! Dad! She’s trying to kill me!”
“Amelia! You brat!”
William’s voice boomed from behind, but before he could touch her, Amelia sent him over the side with a judo throw.
Alexander. Julian, and Lucas just stood there, watching with cold, distant expressions.
Then there was Dylan, leaning against the door, shouting, “Amelia! Stop it!”
Amelia laughed, grabbing Sophia’s arm and pinning her over the edge. “Can’t you see? I’m just taking out the trash!”
One shove, and Sophia plummeted into the dark water.
CRACK! A blunt object slammed into Amelia’s back. Her head spun, and she turned to see a cold, snake- like face.
It was Ian Bennett–her fifth brother, the “docile” doctor–holding a baseball bat.
“Agh!”
Amelia bolted upright, sweat pouring down her face. She gasped for air, her heart hammered against her ribs.
“Amelia? You okay?” Sebastian was lying right beside her. He started rubbing her back gently. “I’m right here.”
The air smelled like antiseptic. She saw the white walls and high–end gear. She was in the hospital.
She threw herself into Sebastian’s arms, breathing in the white tea scent like it was oxygen. “I almost died, Sebastian.”
Real life, nightmares… she had been a hair’s breadth away from the end.
Only his scent made the world feel real again.
Sebastian held her tight, his eyes unreadable. “I’m never letting that happen again. Trust me.”
I was too soft. I thought Derek was just a joke, and it almost cost me everything.
“Where’s Derek Ellis?” Amelia asked suddenly.
“In a cell. He’s a mess from the blast. I made sure the medics only gave him enough to keep him alive. He’s going to serve his time in constant pain.”

Chapter 134 The Morning After
That was his version of justice.
The blast hadn’t killed Derek, but it had flayed him alive.
Sebastian had hired the best team to keep him conscious, pumping him with enough adrenaline to make sure he felt every agonizing second of his existence.
“And Yara?” Amelia remembered the scholarship girl.
Not only was she violated by Derek and his thugs, but she was also beaten half to death. I really didn’t know if she’d ever be able to crawl out from under the shadow of that kind of trauma.
“She’s being treated. She’s stable. Don’t worry about her.”
Amelia let out a sigh of relief.
If Yara doesn’t break, she’s going to be someone important one day.
“Amelia.” Sebastian’s deep voice made her heart skip. A memory flashed through her mind–something from the warehouse.
She’d been drugged… and she’d almost jumped his bones in the back of the chopper, hadn’t she?
She looked up and saw a small cut on his lip. “Sebastian… your mouth…”
Sebastian gave her a mock–hurt look. “Someone tried to force herself on me, and when I said no, she bit me. It still stings.”
Amelia’s face turned beet red. Oh god. I actually did that.
The drugs had been doing the talking, but her body had been very, very loud.
Great. Now he thinks I’m some kind of sex–crazed maniac.
“I was drugged, Sebastian. I wasn’t in my right mind. Don’t look too much into it.”
