Chapter 142 The Plaster Face
This b*tch was a demon at school, and now she’s acting like she’s innocent? Unbelievable!

“Oh? That thing?” Amelia asked, perfectly calm as she pulled a lollipop from her pocket and unwrapped it. “Didn’t you say Kingsley is ‘survival of the fittest? I’m the fittest, so I set the rules. I thought you liked it that
way.”
She popped the candy into her mouth, looking completely bored by the whole situation.
“You’ve got a lot of nerve for a little girl! You really think you’re bigger than the Pearsons name?”
Nigel’s face was purple with rage. “We might not be ‘old money, but we’ve been in this city for three generations. You owe us an explanation!”
“Wow, three whole generations in Kingsley? I’m so impressed. Who are you guys again?”
Amelia faked a look of pure shock, her eyes sparkling with mock admiration.
It was a beautiful look, but the words were a direct slap to the Pearsons’s pride.
Nigel choked on his next sentence, the air leaving his lungs in a frustrated wheeze.
She’s gorgeous, but my god, her mouth is lethal!
“Eudora, you need to fix your stray! The social circle in this city is small, and a brat like this is going to ruin your reputation!”
Megan’s mother Miranda chimed in, her voice shrill and her face a mask of bitter resentment.
Amelia leaned in, giving the middle–aged woman a long, critical look before her lip curled.
“Mrs. Pearson, maybe you should just wear your house deeds instead of all that jewelry. At least then we’d know you’re rich. And maybe go easy on the foundation. Every time you talk, half of that plaster hits the floor. It’s gross.”
Amelia had seen some tacky looks in her time, but Miranda was a walking glitter bomb.
She’d clearly draped every expensive thing she owned over herself just to scream ‘I have money‘ at anyone who looked.
Now I see where Megan gets her trashy style. It’s hereditary.
“How dare you! Your family has zero class!”
Miranda’s face turned a blotchy red, causing even more of her thick foundation to flake off.
Amelia stifled a laugh. “Don’t get worked up, ma’am. I’m just giving you style tips so Mr. Pearson doesn’t start looking for a mistress.”
“Agh!” Miranda shrieked, looking like a banshee. “Eudora! Are you just going to let your daughter talk to
me like this?”

Eudora shot a hateful look at Amelia before trying to soothe her guest. ‘I’m so sorry! She grew up in the woods; she doesn’t know the rules!”
“Wild animals belong in the gutter! If she doesn’t kneel and apologize right now, I’ll—”
“You’ll what?” Amelia’s tone was lazy, but her eyes were lethal. “You really think the Pearson’s name can go toe–to–toe with the Sterlings?”
Miranda flinched, more powder falling, Nigel actually leaned away from his own wife in embarrassment. “You aren’t a Sterling yet! Don’t you dare use Sebastian’s name to bully us. You really think a man like him would actually marry someone like you?”
“Amelia, stop it! A girl talking about men like that… you’re a disgrace to this family!”
Eudora couldn’t take it anymore and lashed out.
“I told you bringing her back was a mistake! She’s a stain on our legacy!”
William rolled his eyes, looking like he wanted to physically toss Amelia out of the house.
Sophia gave Megan a subtle nod. Megan took the cue and put on her ‘big person‘ act. “It’s okay, Mr. and Mrs. Bennett. I know Amelia’s soul is rotten, but if she kneels and slaps herself once, I’ll forgive her for Sophia’s sake.”
“See? Megan is giving you a graceful exit! Kneel down and apologize!”
