Amelia was still holding her fruit plate as she was pulled out of the booth.
By the time she was tucked into the car, she was still a bit dazed. “Sebastian, we’re just leaving?”
The fruit plate! There are definitely more snacks on the side table back there!
“Yes,” Sebastian replied softly. His expression was much more relaxed than before. His eyes almost looked like they were… smiling?
‘Rich people are so weird,” Amelia muttered, stuffing the last piece of watermelon into her mouth.
He took her to a club just to walk around and leave. He didn’t even let a girl finish her meal.
Leaning back in the seat, Sebastian was in a great mood. He stole a glance at Amelia, a small smile playing on his lips.
Bringing her there wasn’t a whim; it was a calculated move.
He’d wanted to show his fiancée off to his inner circle. It was a bit of a flex.
It was clearly a successful flex, too. His friends probably wouldn’t be inviting him out for drinks for a long time.
As they drove, Ryan had a momentary lapse in judgment and asked, “Mr. Sterling, are we going back to Riverview Estates or taking Miss Amelia back to the Bennett house?”
Sebastian’s face immediately fell. His triumphant mood vanished.
“Riverview Estates!”
Did he really have to ask? Ryan’s mouth was getting way too busy lately. He
really did need a trip to Africa!
“No, I’m going back to the Bennett house tonight.”

Ryan had just let out a breath of relief when Amelia’s words pulled him back into the abyss.
Sebastian frowned. “What are you going back there for? Looking for trouble?”
“Oh, someone is going to have a bad time, but it won’t be me.”
Amelia gave a wicked grin, showing off two cute fangs, her bright eyes flashing with mischief.
She hadn’t been back in two days. The Bennetts must be dying to see her.
The atmosphere in the car turned heavy. Sebastian was sulking, refusing to look at her.
Amelia, meanwhile, was busy planning how to ruin everyone’s night and didn’t even notice the jealous man beside her. Ryan felt like he was sitting on a bed of nails for the rest of the trip.
I’m just wanting to stop the car and slap my own big mouth twice!
The Bentley pulled up to the Bennett gates. A servant saw the car and immediately ran inside to report.
William Bennett was in the living room on a call. When he heard Amelia was back, he stormed out to the front door.
‘You actually dare to-” The word “return” died in his throat as he saw the brooding man in the back of the car.
‘M–Mr. Sterling! What a surprise! Why didn’t you tell us you were coming?”
William’s face changed instantly. He was a master of the “face–changing” art. Amelia sometimes thought that even if the family went bankrupt, they could always perform in a circus to survive.
Sebastian was annoyed that he wouldn’t get to spend the night with his woman, and he took it out on William. He didn’t bother with pleasantries, delivering a cold warning instead.

“Amelia is my fiancée. I expect you to remember that. If she gets so much as a scratch, or if anyone bullies her, I will not let it slide.”
Publicly shamed, William’s face turned sour, but he had to force a smile. “Oh, we’d never dream of bullying our own daughter. You’re overthinking things, Mr. Sterling.”
Sebastian scoffed. “You’d better remember what you just said.”
He then turned to Amelia, his voice softening. “Goodnight. If anyone bothers you, call me immediately.”
This blatant favoritism made Amelia feel a genuine pang of emotion.
‘Don’t worry. I think they’ve taken your words to heart.”
Sebastian nodded, shot William one last warning glare, and drove away.
As soon as he was gone, William’s true colors returned. “Don’t think just because Sebastian is backing you that you can act like a queen here. What are you going to do about Sophia’s situation?”
