Chapter 204 Welcome to the Attic

She had been to the attic once. Flashed a light in there. Just seeing the rats and snakes made her too sick to eat for three days. If she was actually locked in there, she’d literally go insane!
Alexander stood between them, totally torn.
On one side, the biological sister he owed his life to. On the other, the sister he had pampered forever.
But as he hesitated, a thought hit him. He spoiled Sophia for over twenty years, and this bitch had the audacity to stomp all over their love and use the Bennetts as stepping stones.
Just remembering his past life made his blood boil with rage.
“What the hell are you staring at?! Throw Sophia in the attic! Move!”
He couldn’t risk waiting another second, terrified Sophia’s Oscar–worthy acting would fool him again.
The two guys hoisted Sophia up and dragged her upstairs. She thrashed wildly in terror. “Ah! Help me! Dad, save me!”
William’s face was black with fury. He opened his mouth to scream, but Alexander cut him off.
“Dad, isn’t this exactly how you treated Amelia when she screwed up? You can’t play favorites now.”
“It’s not the same!”
“How is it not the same?!” Alexander roared. “Just because Amelia didn’t grow up under your roof, you hate her?! You’re incredibly biased!”
Honestly, William wasn’t the only biased one. Before these brothers got their rebirth memories, every single one of them worshipped Sophia and threw Amelia to the wolves.
“I… I’m not arguing with you! If anything happens to Sophia, I swear I’ll make you pay!” William couldn’t out–yell Alexander, so he stomped upstairs, his face beet red.
Seeing the chaos settle, Alexander looked at Amelia like a puppy wanting a treat. “Amelia…”
“Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant!”
Amelia clapped her hands, the sound echoing loud. “Pulling a fake punishment just to keep Sophia out of jail? Impressive!”

“Amelia, it’s not like that! I genuinely wanted to punish her!”
Seeing her completely misread him, Alexander scrambled to explain. He had finally earned a tiny sliver of goodwill from her; he couldn’t blow it now!
Amelia was bored of the show. She stood up. “Save it. Drop the fake act. I’m just curious to see how long you guys can keep this charade up.”
The attic wasn’t a joke. Even if the family wouldn’t keep her there long, it was way worse than the cops.
Going to jail just meant bad PR. Spending a night in the attic meant a total psychological breakdown.
That night, the estate was dead silent. Not even a cricket chirped.
But from the pitch–black attic, Sophia was screaming her lungs out.
Cold, slimy snakes slithered up her body in the dark, making her shriek in pure horror. “Ah! Don’t bite me! Get the f*ck off!”
She couldn’t see a thing, but everywhere she touched was infested with rats and snakes.
The hissing of snakes was deafening. Rats were crawling into her clothes, even trying to crawl into her mouth.
A whole night? One hour was enough to push her over the edge!
“Alexander, I was wrong! Please let me out! I’m begging you!”
Sophia managed to drag herself to the door, pounding on it desperately. But the attic was built with heavy soundproofing. She could scream until her throat bled, and nobody outside would hear a peep.
The two bodyguards stood by the door like stone statues.
William and Eudora ran upstairs, visibly panicking. They tried to get close to the door but got blocked. “Mr. Bennett, the boss said no one gets near the attic. Don’t make this hard for us.”
“You listen to that punk?! I’m the one who signs your paychecks!” William raged.
The guards didn’t even blink. “We work for Mr. Alexander now. We don’t answer to you.”
“I’m letting my baby out! You think you can hit me?!” Eudora wildly charged the door, but a bodyguard just shoved her flat on her *ss.
