Chapter 209 A Setup
Amelia froze for a second. She shot Cyrus a look of pure confusion. “Cyrus, you backstabbing b*stard. You sold me out that fast?!”
Cyrus smirked, completely dropping his panicked act, looking totally relaxed. “Sorry, Ms. Bennett. Mr. Sterling practically forced me to play along in your little game. As a single guy. I really didn’t want to third–wheel, but he threw way too much money at me to say no!”
Amelia’s eyes went wide, the smile dying on her face. A sickening feeling crept into her gut.
“What do you mean?”
Don’t tell me it’s exactly what I think it is…
Turns out, it was exactly what she thought!
Cyrus shot Sebastian a dramatic, fake–annoyed look. “I told you I didn’t want to act in your stupid play! You paid me to do it, and now that I’m actually getting into character, you’re getting jealous?!”
Sebastian pulled his hand off Cyrus’s shoulder, his tone ice–cold. “I paid you to be an actor. Act like a professional and don’t get any ideas you shouldn’t have.”
Cyrus threw his hands up in surrender. “Alright, alright, I yield. I won’t get in the way of your lovers‘ quarrel. Peace.”
Before Amelia could even process what happened, Cyrus walked past her and whispered with a teasing grin, “Ms. Bennett, Mr. Sterling is head over heels for you. Just give in already.”
Once everyone cleared out, Amelia’s rage hit absolute maximum.
She gritted her teeth and screamed at Sebastian. “Sebastian, you and Cyrus f*cking played me!”
This bastard knew her plan from the start! He had teamed up with Cyrus ahead of time just to play along with her act!
Amelia, the ultimate mastermind, actually got played by this absolute prick!
Seeing his little woman fuming, Sebastian took a few long strides, pulling her into his broad chest. “Amelia, you wanted to play, so I played with you. Why are you so mad?”
Before Amelia could fight back, Sebastian’s low voice vibrated against her. “If today wasn’t an act, I’d be punishing you right now for flirting with Cyrus.”
Amelia was never one to take threats lying down. She ducked her small frame, effortlessly

slipping out of his grip.
“Oh. so the almighty Mr. Sterling gets a free pass to have endless women around him, but I’m not even allowed to have a male business partner? That’s rich.”
Just as she said that, Evelyn, that clueless pick–me, popped out from behind Sebastian, looking all timid and fragile.
“Seb… wh–when are you taking me home?”
Amelia immediately mocked Evelyn’s whiny tone, pulling an outrageously ugly face. “Oh, Seb, when are you taking me home? I just can’t wait any longer!”
“Amelia, please don’t misunderstand Sebastian. He just wanted to show me the world.” Evelyn stepped behind Sebastian, purposely tugging on the hem of his suit jacket.
That pathetic, damsel–in–distress act made Amelia want to… punch her in the throat!
Amelia mocked her again, even more theatrically. “Please don’t misunderstand Seb, he just wanted to show me the world! Oh boo–hoo!”
Evelyn’s face scrunched up. Is Amelia psycho?! Did she really think copying me is funny?!
“Seb, look at her!” Evelyn pushed her voice an octave higher, sounding like a dying squeaky toy.
Sebastian brushed Evelyn’s hand away and ordered Ryan, who was standing nearby. “Take Evelyn home.”
Ryan jogged over and blocked Evelyn’s path. “Miss Evelyn, shall I drive you back?”
Please, for the love of God, don’t interrupt Mr. Sterling and Ms. Bennett anymore, you crazy lady!
But Evelyn refused to leave. If she left now, Sebastian and Amelia would totally make up. If they ended up sleeping together, she’d lose everything!
“Seb, I don’t want to go back. I’m feeling really emotionally unstable today.”
“If your precious Evelyn is emotionally unstable, I highly suggest you check her into a psych ward. The doctors there are great at treating ‘depression.”
Saying that, Amelia pulled a business card out of her bag. “Here. I’ll recommend a doctor. Guarantee a total cure!”
The words “Chief Psychiatrist” printed in bold on the card deeply triggered Evelyn. She instantly clutched her chest and stumbled backward. “Sebastian… my chest hurts… I can’t breathe!”

Sebastian frowned and casually took a half–step to the side. Evelyn hit the hard marble floor flat on her back, letting out a sharp yelp.
“Ah! It hurts! Seb, you…”
Dammit! I aimed her fall perfectly! Why didn’t I land in his arms?!
Just as she tried to scramble up, Amelia stepped right over her and sat her ass straight onto Evelyn’s chest. “I can’t cure depression, but I’m an expert at treating chest pain. Brace yourself!”
