Getting dragged into the crossfire, Vanessa’s elegant face instantly twisted into an ugly scowl. “Amelia, what the hell is that supposed to mean?! You’re not even married into the Sterling family yet and you’re already this arrogant?! Do you have any respect for your elders?!”

“Elders? You think you deserve to be called an elder? Don’t tell me you forgot what you did to Sebastian after you married into the family!”

Amelia hadn’t been in the best mood to begin with. Since Chloe and Vanessa insisted on stepping into the line of fire, she decided to unleash all her pent–up frustration right on them.

Vanessa was about to completely lose it and scream, but she noticed people staring. Desperate to maintain her image as the refined lady of the Sterling family, she had to bite her tongue.

“Mrs. Bennett, is this how the Bennetts raise their daughters?!” Vanessa redirected her fury at Eudora.

Sophia saw her opening and immediately started blaming Amelia. “Amelia, do you know what kind of event this is?! You’re completely out of line. Apologize to Mrs. Sterling right now!”

“What does my conversation with Vanessa have to do with you? You’re kissing her *ss so hard, what, are you trying to become the third Mrs. Sterling?”

“What the hell are you talking about?! I’m your older sister!” Sophia was absolutely furious.

Feeling the disgusted stares from the crowd, Sophia’s eye twitched, and panic started setting in. Why does this b*tch always have to bring up the worst possible things?! Everyone here is a total VIP, and she’s publicly dragging my name through the mud. She’s going too far!

Amelia let out a cold laugh, ripping off the band–aid without mercy. “Older sister? The Bennetts only have one biological daughter, and that’s me. You’re just a foster kid.”

You’re pathetic trash, and you don’t even have Bennett blood in your veins!

Hearing the words “foster kid,” the people standing nearby instinctively took a few steps back, terrified of being associated with a low–class charity case like Sophia.

Sophia stomped her foot in rage. “Mom, look at her!”

“Amelia, you are going way too far! How can you just spout nonsense like that?! Are you trying to destroy Sophia’s reputation?!” Eudora felt the condescending stares and immediately started throwing her own biological daughter under the bus.

“It’s bad enough you’re fooling around with Cyrus, but why do you have to drag Sophia down with you?! Sophia is the sweetest girl in our family, and I will not let you talk about her like that.”

Even with Eudora defending her, Amelia didn’t hold back for a second. “Oh, my bad. I thought you were here to rekindle things with Matthew. I just saw him over there. Why don’t you go find him?”

“Sophia, you little slut! You’re actually chasing my husband all the way to the Thorne estate?! Have you got no shame?!”

Katherine, carrying her 130–pound frame on stilettos, stomped over. But she kept her voice low, not daring to cause too much of a scene at the Thorne mansion.

Remembering the brutal beating she got from Katherine before, Sophia flinched and hid behind Eudora in terror.

Eudora tried to play it cool. “Katherine, that whole thing was just a misunderstanding. Do you really have to hold onto it?”

A socialite standing next to Katherine grabbed her arm, trying to calm her down. “The Thorne estate isn’t the place to cause a scene. Just let it go for now.”

Anyone who dared to start a fight at the Thorne estate would get blacklisted in Kingsley at best, and wiped out of the entire country at worst. Their entire family line would be finished.

Amelia instantly looked completely disappointed. “Katherine is so weak. She didn’t even dare to slap you! If I were her, I would’ve pinned you to the floor and beat the living hell out of you!”

No matter how pissed Sophia was, she didn’t dare cause a scene at the Thorne estate, especially with all the socialites watching her every move like hawks.
