“Shut up.”

Alexander’s eyes were like frozen blades.

The murderous glare he gave her made Brittany feel like her heart was about to stop.

“I don’t want to hear that kind of garbage again. Understood?”

Terrified, Brittany shrank behind Sophia and nodded rapidly.

Meanwhile, Amelia had already finished writing the address.

She was about to leave when Alexander suddenly appeared beside her.

His long fingers casually picked up the piece of paper.

“Riverview Estates?”

His brows furrowed.

“Amelia, you’re living at Riverview Estates now?”

He looked genuinely confused.

“Is it a friend’s place… or Sebastian’s residence?”

Amelia snatched the paper back immediately and handed it to Lily.

At the store entrance, Sophia had heard every single word.

Amelia and Alexander spoke in perfect unison.

Sophia froze.

Her mind went blank as she stared at them in shock.

Her lips moved, but no words came out.

Amelia stepped closer slowly, her eyes sharp and dangerous.

“Sophia,” she said lazily, “you’d better stop running that mouth of yours.”

Then she smiled faintly.

“My mental state hasn’t been great lately.”

She cracked her knuckles.

“I might go crazy and start hitting people at any moment.”

Sophia and the two girls behind her visibly flinched.

The three of them instinctively took a synchronized step backward.

They did not want to get beaten again.

Amelia looked extremely satisfied with their reaction.

She flicked her hair and gave them a sweet, almost innocent smile,

“Bye now.”

“Next time we meet… I hope you’ve learned to behave,”

With that, she turned gracefully and walked toward the levator.

Only after she left did Alexander suddenly remember something.

He pulled the black card from his pocket and tossed it to Michael.

“Amelia,” he said quickly, almost pleading, “I bought a villa in the western suburbs. It’s under your name. And I got you a luxury car too.”

His voice softened.

“I know I was wrong before. I shouldn’t have ignored your feelings. I just… I want to make it up to you now.”

He looked at her carefully, like someone standing at the edge of a cliff.

“Just give me one chance. Please.”

Amelia turned and looked at him.

The man standing in front of her was over six feet tall, dressed in a perfectly tailored suit, the kind of man who usually dominated every room he entered.

The powerful CEO of the Bennett family.

Yet right now, he stood there with his head slightly lowered, almost… humble.

“So don’t stand here talking to me about family.”
