He knew Sebastian played the part of the refined gentleman, but in private, he was a cold–blooded shark.
The first thing Julian wanted to do after his awakening was to stop Amelia from marrying this terrifying
man.
The thought of her suffering under Sebastian’s thumb made his chest ache.
Amelia noticed Sebastian’s expression darkening, and the temperature in the car dropped instantly.
Uh oh. Sebastian is pissed.
“Mr. Sterling gives me the best of everything. Why would I leave? Are you high?”
Amelia rolled her eyes and shut the window, cutting him off completely.
Julian had some nerve. She was perfectly happy, thank you very much!
As the car pulled away, the man beside her remained silent, his eyes closed in a mock nap.
But the cold aura radiating from him told Amelia that Sebastian was furious and needed some serious. pampering.
“Sebastian, I’m not being forced. I’m marrying you because I want to. I want to spend my life with you.”
Amelia leaned in close, her voice a soft, teasing purr.
Sebastian opened his eyes, his sharp gaze locking onto her mischievous ones.
For some reason, Sebastian felt a heat rising in his blood. He reached out and caught her chin in a firm grip.
“Really?”
His fingertips smelled of tobacco, and his voice was a low, seductive growl. Amelia’s heart skipped a beat.
Before she could answer, he leaned in and captured her lips in a deep, hungry kiss.
It was a long, possessive kiss, full of intense dominance. Amelia’s mind went blank as she was swept up in his heat, forced to surrender to his affection.
The driver discreetly raised the partition and slowed the car down.
He knew better than to interrupt the Boss.
Amelia was breathless and floating, her arms instinctively wrapping around Sebastian’s neck.
By the time she regained a shred of awareness, her shoulder straps had slipped, and she was straddling Sebastian’s lap.
Sebastian’s crisp suit was nowhere to be seen, and several buttons on his white shirt were undone. Her

lipstick was smeared all over his collar.
It looked for all the world like Amelia was the one ravaging poor Sebastian.
Their breathing was heavy, the small space of the car thick with tension.
Sebastian’s hot hand slid down her waist, moving toward the hem of her dress…
“Wait!”
Amelia caught his hand, her cheeks flushed a bright red. She bit her lip. “Not before the wedding…”
Not here!
The rest of the thought was too embarrassing to say out loud..
No matter how much he wanted her, Sebastian would always respect her boundaries.

He pulled his hand back and kissed her forehead, ruffling her hair while looking at her with a mock–pout.
I have a meeting in ten minutes. Look at what you did to me. How am I supposed to go in there?”
His eyes were red–rimmed, and his voice had a magnetic, seductive quality that made her heart race.
The man was a god. No wonder every woman in the capital dreamed of him!
Amelia wanted to find a hole and crawl into it.
She had gotten a little carried away. He started it, but she was the one who took control and left him in this
state!
Not only was his shirt covered in her lipstick, but so was his face!
He looked like a refined, untouchable flower that had been trampled by a big bad wolf–and then abandoned.
It was almost pitiable.
‘Amelia,” Sebastian said, his hands still locked around her waist, pulling her closer. He smiled. “It seems you really did miss me.”
Amelia was mortified by their position and tried to move back to her seat, but Sebastian held her tight.
He buried his face in the crook of her neck, his voice sounding tired. “Just let me hold you for a second.”
During his three–day trip, he hadn’t stopped thinking about her.
He missed her scent, her voice calling him ‘Mr. Sterling, her brilliant smile,
He had been afraid to sleep, terrified that waking up would reveal his rebirth as nothing more than a
dream.
Only by holding her, feeling her warmth and the steady beat of her heart, did he know this was real.

Amelia felt the steady rhythm of his breathing and her heart sank.
Was this workaholic really awake for three days straight?
She was right.
Sebastian was a machine; he worked year–round and rarely slept more than a few hours.
While he was away, he had replied to her messages instantly, meaning he never actually closed his eyes.
The driver felt for his boss and kept the car moving slowly as he explained the situation.
