anxiety flaring at the thought of their reaction.
Why did they look so angry? Were they looking for me?
“It was nice meeting you,” Henry said, drawing my attention back to him.

Archie Knows?
ARABELLA’S POV
My eyes widened as his lips lingered against my skin. I couldn’t move, frozen in shock, and all I could do was stare at him.
“Will I be able to see you again?” Henry asked, hope shining in his eyes.
I finally snapped out of my trance and withdrew my hand before clearing my throat. “Uhmm… I…” I trailed off, unsure of what to say.
“It’s fine. I know you still consider me a stranger.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a card. “Here’s my card.” He placed it in my palm. “You can use this to reach me.”
“Okay,” I muttered before slipping the card into my pocket and stepping away from the car. “I really appreciate everything you’ve done for me.”
“And I’d do it again if I had to,” Henry said, his eyes soft as he watched me. “Okay, I have to get to work now. Don’t forget to contact me,” he added before getting into the car and closing the door.
I could only stand there and watch as Theo started the engine and drove away.
Taking a deep breath before slowly exhaling, I finally turned toward the entrance, only to gasp in shock when I saw Archie walking toward me.
“Where the hell have you been, Arabella?” he snapped, his eyes hard as he glared at me.
I cleared my throat. “Were… you looking for me?”
“Is that even a question?” he hissed, dragging a hand through his hair. “You didn’t come home last night, and I was worried sick.” He let out a shaky breath. “I thought something had happened to you.”
