“What?” I blurted, shocked by the name she mentioned. How was it even possible that Henry Ashford, the same man who had helped me last week, was here to see me?
Leah scoffed. “You heard me. And if you’ve suddenly developed hearing probleins, that’s not my fucking problem,” she said before turning around and walking out of the office.
“Okay, I’m actually lost,” Sierra said.
I turned to look at her. “I am freaking out.” I paced the room, my hands sweaty as I wiped them against my pants.
“I can see that,” Sierra hummed, walking toward me. “But the question is, why?” She folded her arms. “Who is this Henry Ashford?”
I ran my hands through my hair. “After I left Alvise’s workplace, I was stranded in the rain, but two men helped me. One of them was Henry Ashford.”
Sierra’s mouth fell open. “Okay, I’m fucking confused.”
“I might be too,” I sighed, walking toward the door. “I need to go see what he wants.”
“Wait!” Sierra called. “Did you exchange contacts with him?”
I shook my head. “No, of course I didn’t.”
“Then why is he here?”
Met out a shaky breath. “I’m going to find out.”
“You definitely took your time,” Theo said, shooting me an annoyed glare as I walked toward him.
I shrugged. “I was told to look in the lobby, but I didn’t see anyone there.”
He snorted. “Well, you didn’t expect us to wait around for you all day, did you?”
I ignored his rude comment and let my eyes wander around the parking lot.
Theo was leaning against the car I recognized as Henry’s. But the question was… where was Henry?
