Read Arabella and Alvise novel Chapter 123
“Same fucking thing, Arabella. That was unnecessary! He shouldn’t be sending you out of anywhere in the first place.”
I sighed, bile rising in my throat as memories of that conversation flooded my mind again.
I felt a gentle touch on my shoulder and looked down to find Sierra’s hand resting there. “What happened?”
“I… told him I regretted it,” I admitted, avoiding eye contact.
Sierra still had no idea we’d slept together, and I didn’t want her to know. She’d ask too many follow-up questions, and I didn’t trust myself enough to hide the truth from her.
“Regretted what?” Confusion laced her voice.
“Going into his room that night,” I replied, settling for a half-truth.
Sierra gently cupped my chin between her fingers and lifted my face until I was looking at her. “I’m confused, Arabella… Why would that piss him off? And why would you regret going there? You still haven’t told me anything about that night.”
I opened my mouth to speak… But I closed it just as quickly.
