Read Arabella and Alvise novel Chapter 145
paused immediately, and then without warning, he pulled away. I stared at him, my eyes heavy and my chest heaving up an down as I tried to control my spiralling breathing.
As my eyes bored into his, I suddenly couldn’t believe it. He just kissed me.
“I don’t want to hear you ever talking about him.” He instructed, “I don’t even want you speaking to him.”
My eyes stayed on his lips, which now carried a trace of my nude lipstick. I blinked away the haze and breathed out. “Why?
Alvise raised a brow. “Why what?”
“Why don’t you want me speaking to him?”
He tilted his head to the side and stroked his chin, “I don’t owe you an explanation.”
His words snapped me back to my senses. I frowned. “You owe me an explanation when it comes to things that go on in my life.”
He watched me, his stare looking almost disgusted and I suddenly felt embarrassed. What was I fucking thinking? Why did let him kiss me? And why did I enjoy it?
He only did that to shut me up and prove his dominance over me, because now, he looked like he regretted it. Like he was almost disgusted with me.
“Stop looking at me like that!” I lashed out, gritting my teeth.
He looked almost bored as he raised a brow, “Get off my leg.”
I snapped my head between us, suddenly realizing I was still sitting on his lap. “I never asked you to pull me on your lap in the first place. You did it yourself!”
“I didn’t put a leach on you, did I?” He said, sounding disgusted, “So, what are you still doing?”
I jumped off his lap like it suddenly burned, ignoring the pain in my head as it hit the roof before I got back to my seat.
“You’re such a terrible person.” I said, my voice shaking.”A very terrible person.”
“I could care less what a girl like you thinks.”
I snapped my head in his direction so fast, I was shocked it didn’t come off. What did he mean by that? And the way he said it with so much disdain, like I’d done some terrible thing, was driving me crazy.
“A girl like me?” I scoffed, my voice bitter. “Stop talking down on me, Alvise. If that’s what makes you feel better about yourself then you need to ask yourself why.”
He laughed. It wasn’t one of amusement. It was a dark, mocking one. “Nothing about you could make me feel better about myself.”
Ouch. Really… Ouch!
I took in a deep breath and exhaled before glaring at him. “Then why did you kiss me!” I snapped. “If you think of me this way, why did you just fucking kiss me!”
He stroked his chin and leaned forward till my face hovered over his, “It was a mistake.”
My stomach sank. “A mistake?”
