Game Over
ARABELLA’S POV
And I ended up going on the date. And then the next, and the one after that.

Today was my fifth date with Henry, and I still didn’t know how I felt about him. He was extremely nice and consistent, but 1 always held back.

He showed up at my work with flowers, gifts, and even letters, but… It was just… weird for me. And I felt guilty about it.
“You’re not eating.” Henry nodded towards my untouched steak.
I sighed, “Don’t mind me. I’m just feeling a little under the weather,” I lied. “Please excuse me. I want to quickly use the
restroom.”
He nodded, “Sure, I’ll be waiting for you.”
I flashed him a bright smile before walking away in search of the restroom.
The restaurant was quite huge and significantly crowded, so it took me a good two minutes before I found it.
I sighed in relief as I walked down the hallway, glancing at the sign that read, “WOMEN’S RESTROOM,” like it was gold.
Goosebumps appeared on my skin, and my stomach dipped as a prickling sensation ran through my body. I could feel a presence behind me.
Panic shot through me, and I halted, but before I could turn back, a hand closed over my mouth, muffling the scream I released as I fought to free myself from the tight grip that suddenly came around my waist.
The body covering mine was stronger, and before I could process anything, I was pushed into a room. Then I heard the door shut and click.
Coughing frantically, I turned around to see who my captor was. My blood rushed violently through my veins, and I stared at the familiar blue eyes. “Alvise?”
His eyes sparked, almost the same colour as his navy suit, and with a calm that only meant trouble, he stalked towards me. “Arabella.”
Relief shot through me. “You scared me,” I breathed, taking a step back to put some distance between us.
A tense silence filled the restroom, and I itched to ease it. “What are you doing here?”
Alvise took another step closer, prompting me to take another one back, my heart racing inconsistently. He didn’t stop moving and I didn’t stop backing away until my back hit the cold tiled wall.
Alvise stepped into my personal space and placed his hands on either side of the wall above my head.
His scem filled my nostrils, and I suddenly wondered how I hadn’t recognized that it was him earlier. The fear must have completely blanked out my memory.
“What did I fucking tell you?” he asked, his voice so cold that I sucked in a sharp breath.
He was close. So close my boobs grazed his chest. So close that I had to crane my head back to look him in the eye.
“I…” My words failed me. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Who are you here with?”

“None of your business.”
eyes darkened, and he leaned an inch lower. “Say that again.”
I clamped my mouth shut..
He pressed his body closer, until my boobs ached from the tension from his hard chest. “Alvise…” I whispered,
“Let’s try this one more fucking time,” he said, his voice hard and threatening. “Who are you here with?”
