Read Arabella and Alvise novel Chapter 165
Ruined By My Brother’s Best Friend
“Don’t mistake me for one of your staff,” I warned. “Keep that anger under control.”
ana snorted. “You wish. You don’t even qualify to be the gum under my shoe. Who said anything about being my staff?”
I opened my mouth, ready to clap back at her, but approaching footsteps made me clamp it shut.
At the same time, we snapped our heads toward the sound. Alvise walked confidently toward us, the water bottles in his hands, completely oblivious to the tense scene playing out ahead of him.
His eyes first met mine, then narrowed as they shifted to the side. He paused some feet away as he assessed the scene. “Wha is going on here?”
“She’s threatening me, baby,” Tatiana said, pushing me out of the way and rushing to link her hand around his elbow.
The hard line of Alvise’s jaw told me he was pissed, and his cold stare was even worse.
He believed her without even asking for my side of the story. Why was I surprised?
I walked away, heading back to the living room, my nails digging into my skin.
“You were gone for quite a moment too long,” Francesca whispered, cornering me at the dining table.
I sighed, ready for the night to be over. I had no idea she’d arrived, and as my eyes slid down her body, I withheld the urge to push her out of my way.
She was wearing a red dress too. One that was dangerously similar to mine.
I groaned inwardly. What was Archie thinking? Why would he think I wanted to match outfits with his girlfriend?
“I’m not in the mood for your twisted games, Francesca,” I snapped. “So leave me alone.”
Her eyes flickered with amusement. “It’s getting to you, isn’t it?” Fake remorse played across her smile. “You can’t take it, can you?”
“Say what you want to say and get out of my face,” I whispered harshly, trying my best not to draw attention.
“You’re lucky we have company,” she said, smiling as she looked around. “Otherwise, should I remind you what happens?”
I was done with her. So done with her that I pushed past her and continued to the living room.
More of Archie’s friends had arrived, so it became a full house. I welcomed them and joined them to pull Archie’s leg as usual by flirting.
“Why do you look so moody?” Sierra whispered into my ear as we all exited the living room and headed to the dining table, which was already decorated with food.
“I do?” I asked, forcing a smile. “I thought I was hiding it so well.”
Her eyes narrowed. “What’s the problem?”
“Nothing,” I said, patting her shoulder. “I’m just tired.”
Alvise and Tatiana finally joined us, and my eyes followed them as they walked in.
Sierra followed my gaze and frowned. “And where have they been?”
“No idea,” I said, even though I knew exactly where they’d been.
He’d probably reassured her that I was just his employee and she didn’t need to waste her breath on me.

Refusing to be the one to ruin my brother’s birthday dinner, I smiled and raised my glass after he said his toast, and one of his friends did the same.
tter and conversations erupted around the table, while I simply engaged in conversation with Sierra.
The doorbell rang, quieting the conversations down.
“Who is that?” Archie asked, furrowing his brows.
I stood up. “I’ll go check.”
I walked to the door and pulled it open, but my legs nearly gave way at the sight that greeted me.
With a hard jaw and bloodshot eyes, Theo smiled, the expression alone sending a chill down my spine.
“We meet again, Arabella.”
