Read Arabella and Alvise novel Chapter 273
ARABELLA’S POV
It was her.
I couldn’t be mistaken.
There was no way I would ever forget what she looked like… She was here.
“Madam?” I heard Andrei call, but I didn’t respond. I couldn’t.
I felt like I was trapped in a state of complete shock, unable to do anything but stare at the eyes of my
tormentor.
“We need to get to the car, madam.” Andrei muttered, stepping in front of me and blocking my view of Francesca.
That finally snapped me out of my trance, and sweat broke out across my palms and forehead.
“She’s here.” I rasped, my voice trembling as I almost shook.
Confused, he asked, “Who are you talking about?”
I sidestepped him and peered around the corner again, but it was empty.
She was gone… How could she be gone?
“She’s… no… longer there!” I stuttered, taking a step back, my eyes clashing with Andrei’s confused ones. “I’m not safe.”
In the blink of an eye, he raised his hand and flicked two fingers up, and suddenly, I was surrounded by guards, all of them blocking my view of everything else.
“Don’t worry, madam.” Andrei assured me. “I’ll take you to the car safely…”
“I don’t want to go to the car anymore.” I said, shaking my head.
How could I? I’d just seen the face of a woman whose only interest in life was to ruin me.
I was scared of her.
“I promise you,” Andrei stated firmly. “You’ll be fine.” He assured me, and then the guards started walking. forcing me to do the same.
My thoughts were all over the place, and all I could think about was how absurd it was to see Francesca in Russia.
What was she doing here?
How did she find me?
It didn’t make sense. I knew Cassie had helped her escape prison, but I never got to ask Alvise more about

them because he’d shocked me with the decision to bring me here.
le part of me had hoped and assumed that after everything, she would go start a new life and leave me alone.
But I now realized I was wrong, and she had followed me all the way here.
Goosebumps broke out across my skin at the thought, and I shivered, my lips trembling.
“We’re at the car now.”
I looked up to see Andrei speaking into his phone and instructing a guard to open the car door.
Looking around, I realized that we were indeed outside and now by the car, and somehow, we’d managed to draw the attention of everyone passing by.
I knew Andrei was speaking to Alvise on the phone because of the way his head was dramatically lowered in respect, so I asked, “When is he leaving the gala?”
Andrei ended the call and slipped his phone into his pocket. “In a few minutes.”
Alvise had been the last person I wanted to see minutes ago, but now, that was a different case.
Though I hated admitting it, I only felt safe with him. Only him.
“Please get in. Standing outside is not safe.” Andrei instructed.
I nodded and slipped into the backseat, closing my eyes and clasping my hands together.
It was going to be all fine… I was safe. There was no need to worry.
I chanted those words in my head until I started believing them, and then I relaxed into the seat.
I don’t know how long I stayed that way, but it was long enough for my eyelids to feel heavy and remain closed, but suddenly, a prickling sense of discomfort and awareness washed over me.
I felt him before I saw him, the side of my face heating up as though he was drilling holes into me with his
eyes.
The door opened, but I didn’t panic or check to know who it was.
I just knew.
I felt him sit next to me, and then he commanded, “Start the car.”
The car started immediately, and I released a breath I didn’t know I was holding.
“Who did you see?”
I opened my eyes and slowly turned to look at him, my eyes locking with his narrowed ones.
“Francesca.”
Alvise’s jaw hardened, his eyes searching my face. “Did she get close?”

“She didn’t…” I frowned. “Why aren’t you surprised?”
question was met with silence, and Alvise turned away to the window, like he was dismissing me
My face fell. “Did you already know she was here?”
Seconds passed before he answered. “Yes, I…”
“I can’t believe you kept something so serious from me.” I said in disbelief, scooting closer to the door like it would help ease the pang in my heart.
It didn’t.
“What did you want me to do?” Alvise muttered, his tone dry as he glanced at me. “Tell you so you could do what? Panic?”
I scoffed. “If you told me the same psychotic woman who practically ruined my life was here, I would know never to step foot out of the house.”
“Do you think I can’t protect you?”
The air inside the car tensed, making my heart beat faster as Alvise’s question seemed to ring in my ears.
I sighed. “It’s not that…”
His eyes flashed, a dark look crossing his face as he turned to properly look at me. “Then what is this about?”
“You… said you brought me here to protect me.” I said, my voice shaking with each word. “But now… she’s
here and…”
“I lured her here.” Alvise said coldly, cutting me off.
I furrowed my brows. “You did?”
“That’s what I said, Arabella.”
My mouth hung open before I mustered the courage to ask, “Why?”
I couldn’t come up with any reason Alvise would want to lure Francesca to Russia, and that made it even
more absurd.
His face gave nothing away, and with each second he left my question hanging, I grew more stressed.
I could tell there was more to this, but what was driving me crazy was the realization that I was oblivious to
it all.
“I’ll let you know when the time is right.” Alvise said, the seriousness in his voice sending a chill down my spine.
“You always do this.” I said, frustrated. “Why not now?”
He pulled his phone out of his pocket and turned his attention to it. “Because we have somewhere to be.”

“Where?”
Tooked up and swiped a thumb across his upper lip, his eyes holding mine captive.
“We’re going on a date.”
