Read Arabella and Alvise novel Chapter 82
He didn’t respond. All I could do was stand there awkwardly and wait until he finally stopped five minutes later!
Yes, I knew because I’d been stealing glances at the time on my phone.
Alvise pushed himself to his feet and grabbed the towel beside him, draping it around his neck before reaching for the bottle of water on the nightstand and drinking from it.
His eyes finally found mine, those striking blue depths staring straight through me.
I scratched the back of my head. “Sorry for disturbing you.”
His hair was damp from his workout, and he ran a hand through it before leaning against the wall, his ankles crossed. “What do you want?”
“The access card… I have to go to work, so I need to leave now and get ready at Archie’s place,” I explained, forcing myself to keep my eyes on his face.
He pushed away from the wall and picked up his phone before glancing at the screen. “What time do you leave for work?”
I shifted my weight onto my right foot. “Eight.”
He looked at me. “I’ll drop you off, but I need to shower first.”
My eyes widened. “You want to take me there?”
No. He couldn’t.
This was already a mess, and I had no idea what kind of hell Francesca was going to unleash on me just because I’d spent the night at his place. I couldn’t imagine what she’d do if she found out he dropped me off…
Or worse, if she saw it herself.
Alvise raised a brow. “You heard me, Arabella,” he said dryly.
“But… I don’t want to bother you,” I blurted, only to realize how ridiculous I sounded.
He narrowed his eyes and tilted his head to the side. “Leave.”
Defeated, I left his room and waited patiently in the living room.
I waited nearly thirty minutes, secretly hoping he’d come out and say he could no longer take me.
