And every time he got drunk, it was over two women.
Dominic wasn’t tired of it, but Gavin certainly was.
“Dominic, stop drinking. You’re going to kill yourself at this rate!” Gavin stood beside Dominic, arms crossed, at a loss for what to do.
At that moment, he couldn’t help but think of Everett. Everett had been the most articulate and persuasive of the three of them. If Everett were here, maybe Dominic’s love life wouldn’t be such a complete mess.
“Gavin… I hit her… I hit Evelyn…” Dominic slurred, crying as he drank, his head lolling on the table.
“I’m not a bad guy… I’m really not… But I actually feel… like I was right to hit her!”
“Tell me… why did she become like this?”
“She used to be so pure, so wonderful… She saved my life… I fell in love with her at first sight just from hearing her voice… I thought I would only love her for the rest of my life…”
“But… she changed…”
Dominic collapsed onto the table with a thud, clutching the bottle.
Gavin couldn’t help but pull back his suit jacket, placing his hands on his hips with a speechless expression.
“I told you before that Evelyn couldn’t compare to Melanie. Just look at this new cancer drug. The moment Melanie stepped in, your company was on the fast track to an IPO. But you? You ignored your beautiful, brilliant wife to chase after your nominal sister. I swear, you’re just…”
Gavin was at a loss for what to even call Dominic anymore.
“Yeah… you’re right…” Dominic said, his face a mask of agony.
“So… I regret it…”
