She Quit Her Family and Found Herself novel Chapter 332

Clearly, the kid had mistaken Caspian for a second Julian Thorne, assuming he was a threat to Hulda, and instantly triggered her protective instincts.

Caspian hadn't expected this grubby little child to be as fierce as a wolf cub.

If Hulda hadn't held her back, those little claws would have already been scratching at him.

Though he was a grown man and normally wouldn't view such a tiny kid as a threat, he had to admit he was taken aback by her sheer, reckless courage.

Even with Hulda holding her back, the little one didn't relax. Glaring furiously at Caspian, she spread her arms wide to shield Hulda. "Don't bully her!"

Hearing the child's fluent words, Hulda felt a rush of warmth in her chest, her eyes welling up with emotion.

This wasn't the first time she had been protected by this child...

"Katherine, I'm fine. I'm completely safe." She pointed at Caspian. "Even though that man doesn't look like a good guy."

Caspian was speechless.

Ignoring his cold expression, Hulda continued, "But he's really not a bad person. I know him."

Hearing Hulda's reassurance, Katherine's tense body finally relaxed.

"Fine?" she asked, reverting back to speaking in single, disjointed words.

Hulda nodded. "I'm fine."

"Good!" Katherine nodded emphatically. "Go, back. Escort."

Hearing that little Katherine wanted to walk her back to the project guesthouse, Hulda's heart warmed again. "Okay."

She stood up, looking at the little girl with gentle eyes, having firmly made up her mind about something.
