She Quit Her Family and Found Herself novel Chapter 351

Facing the police officer's questioning, Sylvie Sinclair's expression shifted. Looking slightly embarrassed, she explained, "I... I'm not his biological mother. I'm his stepmother."

"A stepmother..." The officer's eyes narrowed subtly, taking on a more scrutinizing gleam as he looked at her.

Seeing this, Sylvie hurriedly added, "Even though I'm his stepmother, Miles and I have a great relationship. He adores me, and I adore him. Honestly, there's no difference between us and a real mother and son."

"If that's the case, where does the boy like to hang out?" the officer pressed, returning to his previous question.

Sylvie choked on her words. "Well..."

She had no idea!

"I—I know..." Callie Yates piped up. "Miles usually likes to go swimming in the heated pool at the community clubhouse, and he loves feeding the koi at the central landscaping lake. As for outside the neighborhood, he likes going to Walden Books to read and buy books. Um... he also likes the Robotics Maker Space on the second floor of the Science & Tech Museum. He's been to the family club downtown a few times too, and he seemed to really love it. He always had a great time there."

Hearing Callie's thorough response, the questioning officer instructed his subordinate to jot everything down and dispatch personnel to thoroughly check those locations.

"How do you know all these details?" the officer asked Callie.

Callie quickly answered, "Oh... I'm the nanny here. The lady of the house hired me specifically to look after Miles. Those are all places she used to take him, places he genuinely enjoyed."

The officer frowned slightly. Callie's answer instantly piqued his investigative instincts.

He turned his sharp gaze back to Sylvie. "If that's the case, how come you don't know about any of this?"
