Helena's companion didn't dare continue the topic. Instead, she looked hesitantly toward a tall figure disappearing into the crowd. "Hey... didn't that man walking with the reckless girl look a lot like the Sterling family's adopted son?"
At the mere mention of the 'Sterling' name, Helena's eyes went ice-cold.
Her companion's face paled once again, and she offered a weak, apologetic laugh. "Never mind, I must have seen wrong..."
It was a well-known fact that Helena Sheffield absolutely despised the Sterlings. She had cut all ties with them years ago and refused to associate with anyone bearing the name.
Outside the airport terminal, the car and driver Dylan had arranged in advance were already waiting.
Caspian personally opened the door for Hulda. "Get in. Tell me where you need to go, and I'll drop you off."
The situation was far too urgent for Hulda to care about boundaries or pride. She climbed straight into the car and gave the driver Herbert's address.
Things were too complicated to explain over a quick phone call. She needed to look Herbert in the eye and find out exactly what happened before Miles vanished.
Hearing the address, Caspian's eyes flickered slightly, but he motioned for the driver to go ahead.
Meanwhile, at Herbert's house.
The entire Jewell family was still gathered there; not a single person had left.
Sylvie walked out of the kitchen carrying a tray, carefully serving Wade and Valery. "Mom, Dad, please have some tea."
Neither of them gave her a shred of acknowledgment.
Valery completely ignored Sylvie's sycophancy. Having stayed up all night, the dark circles under her eyes were impossible to hide. "It's been another day and night, and still not a single word about Miles! Where on earth is the boy?!"
Cora hadn't slept a wink either. Her nerves were frayed to the absolute breaking point. She glared venomously at Sylvie. "He's not your biological son, so of course you're not worried! Miles has been missing for this long, and you actually have the nerve to sip tea?"
Right now, Cora was like a lit fuse inching dangerously close to a powder keg, ready to explode at any second.
