Hearing Herbert's words, Hulda was completely taken aback.
She hadn't known until today that Cora was also O Rh-negative.
Before this, she had always thought she and Miles were the only ones in the entire family with this rare blood type. To think that Cora shared it too!
When the doctor heard that the boy's aunt had the matching rare blood type, he quickly waved the nurse over. "Although we try to avoid relative donations, an aunt is a much better option than a mother! Go draw the blood, quickly! The child's condition cannot be delayed any longer!"
Hearing that they were out of time, Valery swayed heavily on her feet and nearly collapsed. "Miles... my poor Miles..."
The nurse rushed forward. Seeing Cora actively resisting, she grabbed the woman's arm directly. "What is wrong with you? You're his aunt! You were just out here screaming and fighting because someone bullied him, and now that you need to give a little blood to save him, you're making excuses!"
Cora struggled, desperately trying to break free from the nurse's grip. "You don't understand anything! I cannot give Miles my blood! I can't do it!"
"What do you mean you can't! If I had this blood type, I'd give it to him myself!" the nurse snapped harshly. "Donating blood isn't going to kill you. Hurry up! If we wait any longer, the boy is going to die!"
With that, the nurse forcibly pulled Cora forward.
Panicking, Cora looked at Valery, her face slick with sweat. "Mom! Mom! I can't give Miles my blood! Mom!"
Valery was still reeling from the devastating news that Miles was dying, but Cora's frantic screams snapped her out of it.
She hurried over and blocked the nurse trying to take Cora away, her expression panicked. "No! Cora cannot give Miles her blood!"
