She Turned Her Grief Into Wings novel Chapter 136

"Excellent."

Rhys gently dusted off Frank's shoulder. "Then you just wait patiently, Chief Larson. Good news will be coming your way."

The man inhaled sharply, his face lighting up with sheer disbelief and absolute ecstasy.

"T-thank you! Thank you, Mr. Jewell!"

Frank practically bowed as he personally escorted Rhys to his waiting luxury vehicle.

As the car glided away, Rhys withdrew his gaze, pulled a sanitized wipe from the console, and meticulously cleaned his hands.

Helga Sutton.

His mind inevitably drifted back to the day Lenny Jewell had his heart attack.

If he remembered correctly... that was also this woman's doing.

Tossing the soiled wipe into the built-in trash bin, he ordered, "Take me to Timberwood Estates."

When Vivienne Sinclair opened her front door, she was genuinely surprised to see Rhys standing on her porch.

"Well, well. What brings my dear brother to my humble abode?" She flashed a teasing grin. "What, is your precious Shera ignoring you?"

Rhys remained completely expressionless as he brushed past her and strode into the house.

Vivienne watched his cold, uncompromising back, chuckled softly, and shut the door behind them.

"Shera was in a car accident."

The moment the words left his mouth, Vivienne's hand paused halfway through pouring a glass of water.

She glanced at the man sitting on her sofa, her lips curling into a wicked smile. "Who decided to play vigilante and execute my brilliant plan so flawlessly?"

Rhys met her gaze. "Aren't you afraid I might think it was you?"

Vivienne swayed her hips as she walked over, sitting close enough to whisper directly into his ear.

"If you actually thought it was me, my windpipe would have been crushed the second I opened the door."

She knew her brother all too well. If he genuinely suspected her of trying to kill his beloved, he would be wearing a very different, much more lethal expression right now.

"Fair point," Rhys scoffed softly, raising a hand to push her away.
