Chapter 72
Tristan could hear Stella’s voice when he walked downstairs.
Stella was totally engrossed in her phone, so she hadn’t noticed Tristan at all. She only realized that he was in the vicinity when she heard Lily ask, “Are you going out, Mr. Somerton?
She lifted her head and looked in Tristan’s direction upon hearing Lily’s words. For him to leave in such a rush at such a late hour, she had no doubt that he was going to see Audrey.
She averted her gaze and pretended that she hadn’t seen anything
Tristan drove toward Audrey’s villa.
She was already waiting for him outside. When she spotted his car, she opened the door and slipped inside.
The two of them stayed in the car for a short while before they got out and headed into the villa together.
Emma was surprised to see Tristan when he entered the living room.
“Tristan?”
“Sorry for coming over so late. I’m here to look for Scott,” Tristan explained.
Emma nodded. “I’m sorry that you have to come all the way here, Tristan.”
Audrey led Tristan upstairs.
“I’ll talk to your brother. Stay with your mother.”
Audrey hummed in response and said, “Okay.”
A strong smell of alcohol assaulted Tristan’s senses when he opened the door and entered the
room.
Scott raised his head to look at him. He rubbed his temples before asking, “What are you doing
here?”
Tristan sat on the couch as he pulled out the pocket watch that he carried with him at all times. He glanced at it before asking, “What happened?”
Scott grabbed his glass and drank more alcohol. “Nothing,” he said, not wanting to talk about
Chapter 72
Tristan stared at him and quickly figured it out. “It’s about that sister of yours.”
Scott tightened his grip on the glass. A long moment passed before he finally said, “I need your help.”
Tristan waited for him to continue speaking.
“I received some new information two days ago. Apparently, my father’s company went bankrupt last year. He had to sell off his villa to pay off his debts. I want to know how they’re doing right now.”
“So, you argued with Mrs. York because of this?” Tristan asked.
He knew about Scott’s current situation.
Although Oliver had trained Scott to become the successor of MK Group and had given him a considerable amount of power, Oliver still had the final say in all the decisions that were made in the company.
More importantly, Emma and Oliver had another son, who had just turned 12 years old.
For the past few years, Scott had been fighting to free himself from Oliver’s control while also secretly building his own influence.
Scott didn’t bother hiding anything from Tristan anymore, saying, “If they’re in a tough spot right now, give them a hand from the shadows. I’ll owe you a favor if you do this for me.”
“If that’s the case, I can help you look into this matter.”
Scott poured a glass of wine for Tristan and offered it to him. “Thanks.”
